“Amazing wine, food and view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2014

One of the most beautiful places we visited while we were in South Africa for a month. They have amazing wine and a great place to eat! It sits right in the foot hills of Simonsberg which is the arguably one of the most beautiful places in the western cape but most definitely in Stellenbosch.

Out of the Wineries i went to, this had something special. its definitely "worth the journey"

“Delheim is delectable and unassuming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014

Even though their tagline reads 'Worth the Journey' Delheim is not too isolated, although once you're ensconced in it's intimate valley it may seem so. No imposing edifices at this estate. More of a rural feel. An assortment of face brick buildings greets you on arrival. These contain the wine cellars, gift shop and restaurant. The tasting room is old style design and a selection of most wines are available to taste and some only for purchase, due to limited quantities. They're well known for some of their sweeter varieties such as Edelspatz Late Harvest and Spatendreck but their wooded Chardonnay, Pinotage and Shiraz are also delicious.
The restaurant has an outdoor patio from which you can see Table Mountain on a clear day. Manicured lawns in the shade of mountain forests make for an eye pleasing repast. A good menu selection that caters from light to full meals and at a reasonable price. As a main course we chose Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and a Lamb Shank, both cooked to perfection, accompanied of course by Delhiem Pinotage Rosé, which was sweet and light. Staff are informal and very friendly. Definitely worth the journey!

“Great wine-tasting experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

Delheim has some really knowledgeable staff who make the wine-tasting experience a really good one. The wines themselves are very good, and the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2009 deserves a very special mention.

Unfortunately we were too late to eat at the restaurant, but the cheese platter more than made up for it.

We will definitely be back to eat at the restaurant and buy wine!

Not only is this a great place to learn about the wine making process in beautiful surroundings but it also offers you the chance to taste some lovely wines. The restaurant is also a must!

“Fabulous original old vineyard and cellar”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

We loved this place and were lucky - as novices - that we chose it as our sole winery. Extremely knowledgeable staff gave us an unscheduled and impressive cellar tour late in the day (best to go at set tour times). Heard the restaurant was great - the setting certainly was. Nestled at the end of a little winding road that passes through the Mauritie estate.
