Spier is in need of a make over. Moyo is no longer a really good restaurant. The food was tired, the bbq was already shut down and the picnic food choices uninspiring. In an area with wonderful food and great restaurants sad to say Spier needs a makeover.

The Spier Wine Tasting was amazing! I chose the wine and chocolate tasting combination and was very impressed with the way that the chocolate complemented the wine. I learned a great deal on this wine-tasting tour and will definitely visit again!!

Had the most awesome day. Beautiful setting with vast lawns around a dam and river. Perfect picnic under the trees. Book a picnic basket in advance and add a bottle of wine.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Segway farm tour also great fun and informative.
Spier is a must visit vir locals and tourists.

Spier is perfectly situated for our family from different parts of the Cape to meet for a picnic and we have been doing so for a while. It's wonderful in Summer. We've found a perfect spot next to the river and jungle gym which we visited again on Saturday.

It's possible for the big people to have a conversation as the littles entertain themselves on the jungle gym, running on the lawns and climbing the occasional tree. The food is delicious and wonderful quality, coffee is excellent, the staff are friendly and very helpful and even though it often gets quite busy, we never feel 'hemmed in'. The picnics can be quite expensive and the property is definitely geared for tourists, but we have never felt taken advantage of, in fact, the opposite. Spier runs smoothly, efficiently with a concerted eco-friendly effort and one can choose whether to partake of the 'tourist' offerings or not.

We have visited the Eagle Encounters and the work that the team are doing there is exemplary. I'm not a fan of caged birds at all, but every animal there has been rescued and rehabilitated and loved.

Overall, highly recommended and we shall return before the weather turns.
