“Laid back with great feel”

This was such a great find with - no fuss hospitality and big open lawns for the kids. Management personal and present and offer a great escape 40 minutes from Cape Town.

“Nice Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2014

I was told by a friend how nice the lunch menu in this restaurant is. And when we did try it last week, we were not disappointed at all. Who would have thought the humble chips that accompany a main dish can attain to such yumminess that I would want to talk about it. But yes, the chips in this restaurant are the best ever. Restaurant was quite packed despite the inclement weather so a good sign. Will be back again. Have to go through the menu.

“Lovely Sunday Menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

We had a lovely lunch,
we've ordered the Sunday set menu, all together was really good
but the main course was amazing,
probably one of the best pork bellies I ever had.
It was R165 per person, I thought quality and value were amazing.
The setting is lovely, beautiful garden, lots of space for kids to play.
Very relax and comfortable, really good deli to specially to buy pork products.

“Slipping and shoddy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2014

I often pop into Joostenberg Bistro for a quick coffee and a bite to eat. Of late, the service has been shoddy and pathetic. The tables dont get wiped down and it takes ages for a waiter to serve you. There is a fly problem and your food is literally swamped before you have a chance to even start eating. The standard of their coffee also seems to have slipped.

Nevertheless, please visit the Pork butchery next door, they have friendly service and the selection of meats is great.

“Country Style Excellence”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014

Took my family for a lovely meal on Mothers Day to Joostenberg. Reduced menu makes choices easier and good selection for the kids. Starters spread across the table started off our meal in a festive way. Most of us opted for the Fillet Steak (Apparently from their own cattle) main course! Wow! Tender and cooked to perfection with a sauce to die for. And there was us thinking that they only had their own pork on the farm. Puds went down slowly as we were all getting rather full by then only for the kids to be treated with some chocolates and sponge biscuits. Excellent value. Stroll in the never ending gardens afterwards helped the food settle and made for the perfect end to the day.
