Owner description: Hidden Valley Wines offers spectacular wines, breathtaking views, olives and olive oil, an award-winning restaurant, weddings, cheese platters, nature trails and picnics. Join us 7 days a week. Hidden Valley is the culmination of years of determined patience. Dave Hidden, a winemaker by training, but entrepreneur by nature, has realized his dream. This secluded farm nestled against the Stellenbosch Mountains, now boasts a magnificent new cellar amongst its pristine vineyards. The parcel of land was pointed out to Dave in the late seventies by Dave’s Viticulture Professor; he remarked that this was amongst the best vineyard land in South Africa. Dave took heed of this and acquired the property in 1998. After careful consideration and in keeping with a holistic approach to the environment, the farm was developed to its current glory. Although the winery is a state of the art, gravity fed cellar, it is nestled into side the slope and intended to blend back into the environment in time. The building materials, namely stone, wood and glass are purposely selected to present a contemporary yet functional structure. The cellar is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, almond orchards and natural vegetation, each occupying an integral part of the farms’ ecosystem. Sustainable agriculture is a common theme in every approach both in and outside the cellar.

We got engaged here and couldn't imagine a more perfect place. Stunning views and beautiful gardens. We did a wine and chocolate pairing which was delicious. Next time we want to try the nature hike and the overture restaurant.

Perched on a hill looking over the Stellenbosch valley this is a great place for a tasting and some olives and snacks. The white wine was superb and the reds also highly regarded if not a bit too drying for my taste. Very nice people in the cellar door and the restaurant looked very popular for lunch.

Ernie's one of my favourite wineries was closed this particular Sunday so we head up the hill and found this hidden gem. My friend and I were absolutely dazzled by the view the superb cuisine offered on the set menu. Great value for money and a Chef I highly recommend.

This was our second place to go for wine tasting and it was planned to have lunch there. What a treat, everything was charming, from the natural beauties of the surroundings, the restaurant decoration and excellent food. The staff was very nice and efficient. The wines one of the best we had in South Africa. A must on your list of places to go.

We attended a wedding at Hidden Valley.
It is a beautiful place, the scenery is spectacular.
The ceremony was held in the cellar which was a wonderful setting.
The reception was held at the restaurant which has a very good menu, the food is amazing and you get what you pay for.
The wines are very good and a testament to this is the Hidden Valley Gems Wine has recently been listed in the top 100 of South Africa.
But by far the best thing is the scenery!
