My husband and I spent the weekend at the Lanzerac.

We really enjoyed the weekend and staying in the historical Manor House was magical.

We were really pampered with the spa treatments. Dr Fish was the most interesting, if rather ticklish experience. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere around the pools and the jacuzzi afterwords. This was all thoroughly relaxing.

We were spoilt during the cellar tour as we were a reasonably small group and received individual attention.

We especially enjoyed wine and chocolate pairing with a young honeymooning couple from Italy down in the cellar tasting room instead of in the normal tasting room upstairs.

The winter colours added a surreal feel to the landscape and atmosphere.

The breakfasts were magnificent and there were a variety of items to suit all possible tastes.

All the staff were very attentive at all times to our needs.

Room Tip: IF you want large opulant rooms there is a choice of rooms in the manor house.

This is our second time staying here. The grounds are so lovely and the area around the hotel is gorgeous. The old cape dutch buildings are just wonderful. Yes, it does need a little upkeep. Paint coming off outside, but just little things. Our room was still great. TV wasn't great. Now each time we've been here we've eaten not only breakfast but dinner at the hotel. The dinner is second to none. Great very high class meal. Only problem is that it is very very slow. But, it's better than going out for dinner in the town.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the rooms are very large. There are a lot of pools to lay by and relax. The whole place is very quite and located down along a grogerous tree lined drive. We had a picnic on the grass that was very sweet and romantic. It is one of the things the hotel provides for you. We ate at the restaurant and although it was good it was nothing to write home about. The winery is nice and we enjoyed the wine tasting and the chocolate tasting. A very relaxing stay after Cape Town.

We stayed at the hotel on Saturday evening with my parents and had a lovely time. The setting is magnificent and the Cape-Dutch architecture is amazing. But, the place is dated and in need of an upgrade. In its current state it definitely is a four star and not a five star establishment. The room that we stayed in had a beautiful bathroom but the furniture etc in the room looked a bit used. I was unfortunately cold in the night as the duvet on the bed was very thin and there were no spare blankets in the cupboard. The service in general was really good, the staff friendly and efficient and very helpful. We had very nice treatments at the spa and felt very relaxed afterwards. The breakfast buffet was yummy and our cooked food very tasty. I would like to return to Lanzerac when it has been upgraded to a proper five star establishment.
