Reviewed December 6, 2009

This hotel was advertised as a 4 star hotel, which it most definitely isn't. There is oing wrong with the hotel - the rooms were clean, the staff were helpful (though it is hard to judge since we were the only customers!) but the hotel was definitely not as portrayed on the website, or in the descriptions of it. They list 'golf' and 'wine tasting' under the activites offered, by which they mean there are golf courses and wineries elsewhere in Stellenbosch - no connection to the hotel at all! Likewise it claimed to have a 3 course buffet restaurant (it didn't) and the a la carte menu consisted of about 5 dishes, rather than the extensive choice implied. We are really not fussy travellers, and have stayed in far worse places, but whilst this would make a good conference venue, we were looking for a romantic weekend, which it is definitely not conducive to! In the end we checked out after one night, and moved to Le Franschhoek - definitely a better bet if you're after a luxury weekend!
