A bit pricey for what you get. Rooms were a bit tired looking but clean enough. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially the young woman in reception and our Zimbabwean waiter. The pool was very nice and lunch was as advertised. Breakfast was a pretty standard affair. On site parking which was handy. Walls do seem to be alittle thin between the rooms as we had to listen to our neighbours getting jiggy with it.

We just stayed over for a night and with breakfast the next morning we couldn't complain. The lodge has a country feel and could use some updates but it reflects the style of Africa as well. The price was right and it was a quick drive into town where the university is, can't beat it. It is also close to many vineyards of all kinds to choose from.

If you looking for a small time out spending a few days in Stellenbosch (and you dont want to blow the bank) then this is just the right place to stay.
Warm friendly atmosphere and very nice staff. We used the Hotel as a base from which to visit many of the food and beverage establishments and wine farms in the area.

This is a comfortable and unpretentious hotel situated on the edge of the Blaauwklippen estate. The rooms were a little tired and in need of refurbishment but nevertheless comfortable. The hotel staff were helpful and courteous. Conference facilities and lounge were good - but outdoor entertainment area was in need of some attention.

Rooms are clean but are looking quite dated & could do with a re-fresh, staff (when you could find any) were uninterested. Biggest dissapointment was the pool - filthy and unusable. Would not stay here again

I work for a very company and we always struggle to find the a venue that can cater for our every need. As we where 150 I thought it would be a challenge for the lodge. On arrival we had such a friendly greeting and everything was perfect, from the food to the facilities, rooms and staff were excellent!
Thank you for making our experience such and amazing one!
Looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed at the lodge in our honeymoon, and everything that wasn't terrible was drearily average. The receptionist did not even greet us upon arrival. She did not volunteer any information, and answered every question with "uhm..." And looked to her left, where someone out of our sightline obviously prompted her answers. She did not even ask our name and asked for a credit card even though we had already paid in full. We had to ask where our room was, and then she proceeded to direct us the longest poossible way. There was no assistance for the luggage and we had to carry 3 very heavy cases up 2 flights of stairs. We didnt use any of the hotels facilities because we knew nothing of any of them. The room was clean but a dead average carbon copy hotel room, and for nearly R1500 we expected a little more. My husband chose this hotel for us, I chose the previous night stay @ Val d'or in franschoek - which was fabuloius, so we felt very much let down. I worked for the millenium copthorne group in england, they are also 4 * hotels, and the service at stellenbosch lodge is definately NOT 4*quality.
