What a fun thing to do for a birthday! 8 young ladies of 19 year old and 2 fossils learnt much about drinking certain sparkling wines with nougat and Turkish delight. A really good experience was had.
The restaurant just upstairs is beautiful, with friendly staff and very good coffee. We didn't have the time for a meal, but noticed that which was brought to other tables looked really good too.

Thank dobz

We started with a lovely breakfast, which eventually came. The service was quite slow and lots of other guests arriving laten than us were served before us. However, the food was nice! Then we went for a cup classique and nougat tasting, which was really nice. I would never have thought that these things would work together, but they did! The service was good and the atmosphere really nice. We enjoyed our visit here and enjoyed very much the cup classique!

We visited the newly refurbished restaurant at J C Le Roux on Sun 24th March. I had been in the past and was keen to see what changes had been made. Its was a lovely sunny afternoon so the terrace is a very pleasant setting for a Sunday lunch. But reading a few recent reviews, I realise that my experience is going to sound v. similar to "Thirty girl" who also visited recently. We ordered our sparkling wine and the 4 of us ordered the sirloin and all asked for it to be "medium". The menu is short and changes weekly so it should not be difficult for the kitchen to cope. After quite some time, we were already on our 2nd bottle of bubbly and I had noticed that other diners who had arrived after us had already been served with their lunch. We asked what had happened to the food and our waitress assured us that she had spoken to the chef. Eventually, just as we were going to ask again, the four plates arrived. Two were OK but two of the steaks were very well done, somewhat tough and the chips/veg were cold. The waitress offered to take those plates away and get fresh steaks. So it meant that 2 of us ate lunch while the other 2 watched. When the replacement steaks arrived, the other 2 could eat while the others watched.. Not a good way to enjoy a lunch together. I think the waitress should not have been left to try and cope with unhappy patrons. The chef or manager should have come to the table and explained or apologised when it was first realised that the meal was not going well. I have a feeling that the chef was having an off day and wanted to get home. We were given a complimentary bottle of bubbly which was at least a kind gesture to try and make up for the poor experience. Just after finishing the main course we were asked if we wanted desserts - because the kitchen wanted to close! And we were asked to leave through the back gate as the main building had been locked and the alarm was on! Well thats a first. If they hadnt been sooo sloooow with the food we would not have been the last to leave! The tasting area is pleasant, the bubbly is great and the new fittings and decor are attractive, but no amount of nice cushions or furniture can make up for poor food and service. Come on J C Le Roux, you can do better than this!
