“Red Wine & Cheese - heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2011

I popped in with a friend on a saturday afternoon to be met by friendly staff and a gorgeous setting. We tasted 5 red wines and shared an amazing cheese platter for 2 and all in all the bill came to less than R100! Fantastic value and beautiful wines. I'll recommend the Petit Verdoux and the Pinotage. We sat on the veranda in the winter sun whatching the chef harvesting his vegetables in the garden. Unfortunately they closed at 4 and we had to leave, but I'm sure if they stayed open we would have still been there for dinner.

Food from the garden.. we have seen that concept before, but they normally don't make it happen.
This time it was genuine. Very nice, apparently simple dishes. Greatly executed, fresh, wholesome.
I really loved it. And it is becoming popular already, without advertising, and with a setting that is very nice, but then again in Stellenbosch, very nice is just average.
Well it was great. The Dutch chef is charming too.
Salmon with garden salad looked nice and tasted too good.
Kingklip with risotto. Again very, very nice and. Superb sauce but not the standard creamy sauce. Beef fillet. Rhubarb crumble.
Congratulations to the Chef.
