Excellent greeting by local "interns" who were extremely knowledgable about the estate despite only being recently placed. Hopes were high as the reception area is beautifully decorated but disappontment set in when taken to the room up a possibly dangerous external wooden stair.
Very basic, sparse and not particularly clean room. However, bed was comfortable with good linen . Pointed out a few minor problems (that needed two minutes with a screwdriver to fix) to the manager who promised to attend to them but nothing happened.

The scenery and views round the vineyard are stunning and the service has been some of the most friendly we've had. Of note are Tobias and Andrea who really went the extra mile to ensure our wine tasting and stay overall was thoroughly enjoyable. If you're after a refined chique hotel then this probably isn't it, the rooms are homely and a little dated but give a great relaxed feel which made it a really chilled enjoyable stay. The braai dinner pack was a fantastic option letting us BBQ our own dinner while watching the sun set behind table mountain. The wines produced here are amongst the best we tasted anywhere in the Winelands. All in all a great place with great staff and great wines!

I have only recently been introduced to the Marianne Wines! i have been living in the Cape for seven and a half years, and have not yet had the privilege to visit , but WILL definitely go visit very soon! I was absolutely surprised at the most tantalizing taste of the Merlot wine!! I really enjoy a good glass of red, but this is mindbogglingly delicious!! Anything after this tastes like vinegar!! Can't wait to see the Estate and experience the whole package!!

We stayed in Marianne Wine Estate for 3 nights during the New Year time. I can highly recommend this place due to its good location in the center of Cape wineland ( short driving distance from Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franchoek), very service minded staff ( who arranged a wine tasting for us at 9 pm immediately after our arrival to the wine estate) and excellent breakfast with perfect views over vineyards. Rooms are quite simple but clean and spacious. Possibly they are not as luxury as in other Stellenbosch wine estates, but they offer very good value for money. Do not be upset with the fact that the restaurant is not open for dinners - they will arrange a " take away" dinner for you, which means that the dinner will be served in your room. It is really convenient if you arrive late. And the food is delicious, especially together with Marianne wine!

We had a wonderful stay at Marianne Wine Estate. We were personally greeted by the manager, who was extremely hospitable and involved. The wine and views were fantastic. The staff was very helpful in making several recommendations about places to visit and wines to try in the area, which greatly added to the quality of our time here. Marianne was a high point in our stay in South Africa, and we look forward to staying there again. We need to find a way to get their wines back in the United States!

I stayed at Marianne this past weekend when my boyfriend and I were touring the Cape Winelands and absolutely loved it. The wine estate is so beautiful and the manor house has a very sleek and modern interior. Also, breakfast which is served in the Manor House was delicious. We were able to order what we wanted (type of eggs we prefer, cooked vegetables, bacon). There is also a delicious fruit salad to choose from, bread basket with an assortment of breads, cereal, etc. Our room (Franschhoek) was very spacious and could have accomodated a small family! Marianne is also quite close to Stellenbosh (only a 10 minute drive) and Franschoek (one must definitely visit this adorable little town). I actually preferred being a short distance from town because I felt safer when walking around the estate. I would recommend this idyllic wine estate to anyone. I hope to return on day in the near future.

Room Tip: Be sure to talk a walk and enjoy the beautiful sunset at this gorgeous wine estate.
