Starting from humble beginnings, Overture soon became a destination for great food, service and wines. Since then, Chef Owners Bertus Basson and Craig Cormack have taken Overture to new heights with accolades as prestigious as being in the Eat Out top 10 for five years in a row and acquiring three stars in the Rossouw's Restaurant guide for four years running. You will find Bertus behind the pots at Overture while Craig focuses on his salt range, Amouleh.

“Impress overseas visitors by taking them here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

I had probably the best meal ever in Cape Town at this venue on a lazy Saturday afternoon.

My best friend and I decided to be tourists in our own city and explore what the winelands had to offer. Overture was recommended to me by a foodie friend of mine and he described it as one of his best food experiences in CT. He was right!

From the moment we arrived there the service was 10 out of 10, friendly attentive staff who were charming and very well informed on all aspects of the menu and wine list. We decided to have the 3 course meal option and were blown away by the tastiness and presentation of each meal. The serving sizes were also perfect, leaving as satisfied but not overly full. The prices although expensive were paid with pleasure as the value of the experience was worth it! We sat on the terrace overlooking the winelands before us, simply gorgeous.

It was funny to note that we seemed to be the only non tourists at the restaurant as all around us were the accents of foreigners, must say I felt quite proud to know that they would all have this amazing experience to keep with them. I highly recommend that anyone hosting international visitors take them here for an unforgettable day.

The only bad thing I have to say about this venue is that it is near to impossible to find by anyone that doesn't know where it is! The name "hidden valley" is very accurate, we were over 40min late because there are NO signs directing you here at all - so make sure you have GPS or something setup before starting the journey there - once you made it, it's all worth it though!

“A WOW experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

The excellent food was impeccably paired with the wine, faultless service and a view to die for! Was there during a fairly busy Sunday but everything ran smoothly. The staff are well-trained and informed.

“A good experience once again…”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

Enjoyed lunch with friends on a quiet Thursday; restaurant was not full and chief was absent. The team made a very good effort and we greatly enjoyed the experience. Service was faultless and food was very good and paired wines perfectly complimented the dishes. The fish in hake main course which three of us had did let the dish down a little, it was rather “wet” this can be a difficult fish to get right.

Went on Saturday for an anniversary lunch, well what can I say... Spectacular!!!! Service was spot on best I have ever had. Never was my glass empty and there knowledge on the food and wine was beyond. Food was incredible, been to many great restaurants but Overture has become my number one!!! Congratulations to Bertus and his team for running a tight ship and making my anniversary lunch a day to remember!!!!

“Disappointing!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

Have been before but this time we felt the food was quite disappointing. The choices were limited and found the staff not well trained enough to take the food orders or what to recommend. Very poor. The deserts were good, but that did not make up for the average starters and main course. As a result of us not enjoying our food we found the restaurant way over-priced. Not sure if we will go back.
