The restaurant at the Dornier winery is housed in a historic barn. The grounds are gorgeous and they have a large swing set for kids to play on while parents eat and taste wines.
The food is very good with fresh ingredients, but be prepared to wait a L-O-N-G time to get it. It took close to 3 hours to have lunch!! We were planning to do a wine tasting after our lunch, but because lunch took so long, we ran out of time. We were told afterwards that we could have done our wine tasting with lunch. It would have been nice to have been told that ahead of time and it would have given us something to do while we waited for the food.
Also - bread is not brought to the table before meals like in the U.S. It is extra and has to be ordered. And - they only give one very small slice per person. We also had to wait a long time for the bread.
We suggest alloting a long time, ordering bread as soon as you sit down and have your wine tasting with the meal.
