Description: We invite you to join us at the Restaurant Clos Malverne for the ultimate Food and Wine Experience. Our Restaurant offers you an utterly enjoyable intimate and friendly dining experience in unpretentious but beautiful surroundings. It is not surprising that the bulk of our clientele are people who have been here before as well as their friends and colleagues who have recommended it. As you dine, you and your guests will enjoy an unbelievable vista of the softly sweeping vineyards and rolling hills of Devon Valley - so reminiscent of their English counterpart - and the pastel-coloured mountains behind them. It is an incomparable view that will help create a pleasurable and utterly memorable experience. You'll also enjoy fine gourmet dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Nadia Louw-Smith, renowned for her impeccably-prepared and delicately spiced dishes that seduce the palate. She is one of the most experienced chefs in the country and has been voted Chef of the Year for her sublime dishes. It is not surprising then, that Clos Malverne restaurant has become a favourite of gourmands and has received rave reviews from critics and clients, both in South Africa and abroad. Our kitchen closes at 15:00.

I can't think of a better place to go for lunch in Stellenbosch, the food & wine pairing was just perfect, not to mention the actual food & then the service, talk about being treated as Royalty.
Sunday was my forth visit and still good value for money, it's a must for Sunday lunch or for that matter probably any lunch.

Although the price has gone up considerably over the past several years, the 4 course menu with wine for R228 is still a wonderful deal. We were there yesterday for lunch (fully booked for a Sunday lunch) again after being gone for probably 8-9 months. It was wonderful as always - tho I missed their good chocolate fondant. It's a great, great place to enjoy a leisurely lunch, and the food is good, and service attentive and they team up well, helping one another provide great service to tables.

Based on other TA reviews 3 of us attended lunch on Sunday. The place is very popular and we just managed to get a table when booking the day before. All 3 of us chose the 4 course meal matched with the recommended wine. The website does not display a vegetarian option for this meal type, but once seated the waiter explained we can do it 100% vegetarian for our guest. Before taking the order we each received a glass of sparkling wine made on their own vineyard. It is excellent and exceeded our expectations. In fact each of the 5 wines served (each course accompanied by half a glass) was of a high standard. We all thought the food was good with one exception. The onion soup contains a large amount of cream and is far too rich. The restaurant offers excellent views whilst being completely enclosed from the weather. The portions are not huge, but with 4 courses to get through that suited us. The new price is R228/person equals USD24.00. Hence it's excellent value and avoids having to buy an entire bottle of wine. Def recommended and they offer wine sales at the bar.
