Delaire Graff Estate - Lodges and Spa
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 20, 2011

We had lunch at the stunning hotel and estate.. and decided to go back on our last day because it was simply stunning! All the amazing art work by the likes of Lionel Smit and Kendridge.. absolutely stunning!!
The food at Indochine was divine and we prefer the food to that served at the main restaurant.. the hotel comes with a nice price tag.. but we will 100% make sure to stay here next time we visit SA! It remains one of the most amazing spaces I have been to!

After dining at one of the fabulous restaurants at Delaire, my boyfriend decided to surprise me with a stay at this beautiful estate....and what a surprise it was. The room was simply stunning. From an impeccably positioned infinity pool (your view is over the vineyards and mountains) to a bottle of rose chilling on our arrival, everything you could possibly have wanted had been thought of. I don't want to describe too much more as I would like to leave the element of surprise to anyone deciding to stay there! Included in the price is a wine tour and wine tasting. Sadly we didn't have time for the tour but the tasting was wonderful. Freddie was our tutor and guided us through 5 wines on the deck at sunset, a wonderful experience especially as Freddie was so passionate about his job as a winemaker. Whether you visit Delaire for the Michelin quality food, for the wonderful art and sculpture that is dotted around the estate or to stay in one of the lodges, this is truly a fabulous and special place that won't disappoint. The service is possibly the best I have had, nothing is too much trouble, and the wine was so good that we took a case home!

Delaire Graff has to be a must see / must stay destination for seeing Franschoek and Stellenbosch. The accomodation is excellent. Both restaurants are top class - the view from IndoChina as the sun sets is amazing and beautiful. The staff and management at Delaire make sure that you feel welcome and have a great stay. I cannot say enough positives about this place.

We have just had a wonderful stay at Delaire Graff Lodges and Spa. The view from our room, our private pool, the amazing spa treatments and the exceptional service were all out of this world.
HIghlight - the art, the views and the private pool
Lowlight - having to leave!!

I had lunch at the winery last week, and went for a tour of the hotel. It is beyond amazing. They have thought of every single detail, and more.

It's high end, but not pretentious. It's the way I would want my house designed, if I could afford it.

It's relaxing, amazing, and well worth it.

I've stayed at many hotels over the past few years, and I've seen nothing like this before.

The Delaire Lodges are 10 rooms nestled at the top of the pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. We spent two nights there shortly after they opened and were treated to the most amazing hotel stay of our lives. The rooms are spacious - essentially a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment with a deck and a private pool, all overlooking the vineyards and mountains of the Cape Winelands. You are provided with a private butler who is on call to satisfy any (reasonable) desire. Canapés and wine are provided at night before dinner and the minibar, transfers and many other amenities are all included.

This is all topped off with a simply stunning level of service. The entire staff, and our butler in particular, bent over backwards at the slightest request - whether it be a snack in our room, or a late night jump into the Spa's steam room.

I can't say enough good things about this place - but of course it comes at a high price. A stay here is not an amazing value, but it is a singular experience.
