Description: One of the first signature chef restaurants in the Cape Winelands, the Jordan Restaurant with George Jardine brings top chef George Jardine’s brand of contemporary fare from city to country. The focus on the flavours of locally sourced, seasonal ingredients is evident from his kitchen vegetable and herb garden to wine barrel fish smoker and wood-fired oven. Expect smoky, smouldering country flavours in simple combinations on a contemporary plate – with signature smoked yellowtail, steamed Saldanha mussels, seared ribeye and springbok potroast. The main ingredient is enhanced by smoked garlic, aubergine, fennel, prune or potato puree. A trip to the walk-in cheese room to select your own board of artisanal Cape farm cheeses with preserves and breads rounds off a spectacular meal. Vintages from Jordan Wine Estate form the cornerstone of the restaurants wine list.

It was a perfect day to sit outside, enjoying the great views. And ofcourse to enjoy the very nice wines and good food. Very high value for money!

We had high expectations of this restaurant and made our reservation a couple of weeks ahead of our visit. We were sorely disappointed! We ordered 2 glasses of Cap Classique, followed by a bottle of Chenin Blanc. The bubbles came in good time but the wine arrived after our food and then as 2 glasses rather than the bottle we had ordered. The food was very good and is particular the soufflé dessert, brought to the table by the chef. The bill was one of the most expensive meals we had at the many (16) different restaurants we dined at in the area. After paying our bill, including a 10% gratuity, we left the restaurant and our departure was totally ignored by the staff. A very disappointing and over priced experience! As regular visitors to the area this will be our first and last experience of dining at Jordan.

This estate is 20 minutes from Stellenbsoch city. I went to the Jordan Bakery. Staff were very friendly and allowed me to order even though they were closing the kitchen. I ordered the bread platter with dips which was heavenly. And the view of the mountainside is just amazing. Perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of Stellenbosch city.

This is a restaurant in heaven - and the food is angelical in every way. As the sun sets over the mountain range - a magnificent purple orange lights the sky and magically mingles day to night. It is sensual and breathless. I think the magic of the atmosphere informs the chef - because the meal transforms the senses - as do the incredible array of Jordan wines. A wonderful night out! I did so want to give the restaurant 5 stars - but I gave that to the five hundred at the Saxon in Johannesburg - but Jordan restaurant is oh so close!
