We arrived at about 11am last Saturday morning and there were already a lot of people camping and in the various houses. Two large groups of people in particular at the swimming pool and behind the ablution blocks were already making a lot of noise and drinking a lot at this time of the morning. We tried to find a campsite as far away from them as possible and with the ablution block between us to try and block out some of the noise. We left to attend a wedding at 3.30pm and came back to the campsite at midnight.
By this time the noise levels had increased and obviously more alchohol had been drunk. We tried to go to sleep - but at 2am the music (if you can call it that!) was still thumping out of their cars.
We nearly packed up the tent there and then and drove back to Cape Town I was so angry and disappointed that people are allowed to do this and have no concern about others. We thought about calling the police to report the noise disturbance as we were rather scared to go and confront the noisy campers as you could hear they were very drunk.
EVENTUALLY at 6.30/7.00 am when the birds were cheeping and the sun was up they all went to sleep and we had a bit of sleep until 10am when we packed up and left. I will definitely not come back to the site for fear of this kind of thing happening again.
