This was our final stop at the end of a two week holiday in South Africa. It was a bit like staying in a country manor place - beautiful furnishings and arty bits, without being pretentious. It was only a 10 minute drive into Stellenbosch town centre.
The owner was so friendly and knowledgable and nothing was ever too much for him to accommodate. At the end of our stay he gave us a tour of some of the other bedrooms - by his own admission, we were in the 'worst' room (it was also the cheapest which is why we booked it!) and whilst he may have been right, it was still so beautiful and comfortable.
We had a sumptious meal in the hotel's restaurant - excellent ambience, unhurried and, again, knowledgeable. Lovely to realise it is part of a training school for future hotel management people and chefs.
Would definitely be happy to stay here again.
