We stayed one night at Stumble Inn in a private room. The accomodation and facilities were clean and adequate. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed thier knowledge of Stellenbosch.

Stayed for 2 nights in a double room (shared bathroom) - Was perfect. Room very clean and spacious-Great value at approx GBP15 a night. Double bed and also bunk beds in room. No wardrobe, just small cupboards/shelves. Didnt need anything else really.
Showers/toilets were very clean and never a queue.
Staff were helpful and courteous.
Public area relaxing - Bar good value.
Can be a little noisey at night, but what do you expect in backpackers.
the wine tour was amazing-thanks v much-Informative and great fun
Definatley recommend and return.

One of the dirtiest hostels I've ever stayed at and the staff are also very rude, don't care about guests at all.

Clean, neat, well-priced and very friendly and professional service. Brilliant little bar to wind down after a long day. Will go back there any time. Stayed there in Oct 11 and left refreshed and smiling.

Don't know who wrote this review, but I beg to differ :
Central location but hostel very dirty and not very secure - don't stay here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2009

The whole place is very tired and run down, and the kitchen is so dirty it's probably a health hazard. The kitchen is also very poorly equipped. The hostel is very cold, and the staff struggled to find us some extra bedding, eventually taking some from an empty room.

* Stayed September 2009, traveled with friends

I stayed in October 2009 and 2011 here. We had a fantastic time. It's an old building, but very clean and friendly staff. If you want the luxury of home, then stay home, that simple.
The Stumble Inn is not expensive, but provides with whatever people need. And no one lives in the rooms I suppose, get out, get to know Stellenbosch.
The beds were made with fresh sheets. For sure I'll be back there.

Room Tip: It is not a 5* hotel, but if you book here, you really don't care about that. It is very clean and an excellent location. That's what matters.
