“Treehouse with a view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

We stayed at Homtini for a couple of nights during the January of 2011, the children loved it so much they begged us to return which we did in the January of 2014. It was as good as we and the children remembered. The hosts are wonderful and accommodating, they took time to show us round the farm, the vegetable patch, the hen house and the granadilla vines, they were unstinting in their care and consideration. My children love the excitement of hunting for the chicken eggs, which are on a finders keepers basis, and of course the pool and sauna are a big hit with them. The log cabins are very well maintained with a lovely warm character, they are very comfortable and clean with everything necessary provided for. It feels like one is in a 5 star treehouse. It truly is magnificent having a braai on the wooden deck with the Knysna forest stretched out below one in all its splendour. The peace and tranquillity is so good for the soul. Next time we will try and stay a bit longer so we can investigate more of the area. Although we did manage a few beautiful walks in the indigenous forest which surround the cabin and the nature reserve which is just down the road and has fabulous picnic spots.

My family and I stayed for three nights at Homtini Guest Farm in December 2013. It was a fantastic experience. Jeremy and Margretta were lovely, friendly hosts who gave us loads of information about local places to visit as well as inviting us to help ourselves to freshly laid eggs, vegetables and herbs from the garden and a generous supply of braai wood every day. The sauna was wonderful and the pool was refreshing and clean. The safari tents were luxurious, the sheets were clean with electric blankets on the beds if we got cold, crockery and cutlery were clean. We couldn't ask for more and we will definitely come back again. I have recommended my family and friends to visit Homtini as it is a beautiful place.

Room Tip: Luxury safari tents, only two but they were secluded from one another but we met up in the evenings...

We stayed at Homtini for four nights and had an amazing time.
The farm is located outside of Knysna in the rural area of Rheenendal.
Homtini offers different kind of accomodation, three trails, a swimming pool and a sauna.

We stayed in a family tent, wich has it's own braai and a shared kitchen and fire pit. The tent was well equiped and even if we arrived in a very cold evening, we were not to cold as we had plenty of covers. The bathroom has everything you may need.

We choose to have a Moonlight package and both the Grill+Salad and the cheese platter were great. We especially loved the fresh Blueberries from the farm.

Homtini is a great place to stay to enjoy Knysna and it's surroundings, or just to relax and enjoy the amazing views and activities. Margretta and Jeremy are friendly and opened people and you will learn a lot from them.
Thanks to them we now have a little more knowledge on Fynbos, which is unusual but very usufull in the area.

My husband and I got to spent one unforgettable night in "Monkey Plum" Couples Tented accommodation. From the moment we arrived and Spotty welcomed us with a wagging tail we felt welcomed. Our secluded tent was immaculate with linen as white as snow (and should you visit in winter there is an electric blanket). Besides all the crockery and cutlery, there is an electric kettle, tea, coffee and sugar. There was even milk in the fridge! The bathroom is en-suite and towels are also provided. On the property there is 3 clearly marked walking trails and although we did not make use of the crystal clear swimming pool and sauna, these were available for all guests. We relaxed with a drink on the deck whilst the sun disappeared and we prepared our supper on the Weber Gas braai. Without a doubt will we back.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in the couples luxury tented accommodation. The view from the wooden deck is amazing and tranquil. Homtini pass runs past the farm, so there is occasional vehicle noise, but nothing unbearable.

It is tented accommodation, so if it is windy at night, expect to be kept awake. The tent is very tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The self catering amenities were adequate. Out gas braai did not work, but fortunately we were provided with a gas skottel skaar.

It is close to Millwood Forest reserve and a short drive to Knysna. Great if you don't want to be in Knysna, but in close proximity to the attractions.

We stayed two nights in the two safari tents. Extremely comfortable and everything one would want for self catering option. Our Dutch friends especially commented on the bed linen. The views wonderful. Early morning seeing the sun rise and the evenings spent watching the sunset sipping a glass of wine on the deck. The walks were also a good exercise!
