Pack a lunch and bring plenty of quarters! The food is pricey, and you need change to feed various animals. :)

My sister took me to this zoo, she use to own Trails End and that's how she knew about your zoo-I was just out of a very abusive relationship and this zoo was such a wonderful therapy for me. I loved feeding the birds and touching the animals - It was a remarkable experience -- Thank you for this awesome place!! This is the one you have to see and the new aquarium is a real blast too, not to mention eating in front of the huge aquarium- just a real good deal-- Thank you so much -- Renelle and Jan (past owner of Trails End)

We visited with our young daughter and had a great time. The aquarium and zoo exhibits are great and let you get close to the animals. Don't miss feeding the giraffe! The park is a little pricey, so look for discounts/coupons (AAA discount available). Clean facilities and helpful staff. Nice playground. My only complaint is all the rides - boat, train, carousel - cost extra ($2-6 per ride). But overall a great place to walk around with the kids.

Like other reviewers before me, I have been to many great zoos. Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo (FREE). Brookfield Zoo near Chicago. Milwaukee's Zoo and the San Diego Zoo. These are all world class zoos.
Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium should just be judged on it's own merits as it is not comparable to any of the forementioned. That being said...it still was a pleasant surprise. The setting is a bit of an oasis in the surrounding flat, arid desert. Many trees and shrubs. Very spacious with wide walking paths. The paths are all dirt - no paving anywhere.Consequently, very dusty as you might expect in the desert. The exhibits are generally spacious as well. Some are not particularly open for clear vista viewing but most are.
Surprising variety of species without elephants or rhinos.Feeding the giraffes is a must.
The cost is somewhat prohibitive for many especially families. Somewhere around $32.00 per.
No discounts for seniors. Fortunately we had a 2 for 1 coupon which I understand are readily available. The 4 rides - Train, overhead tram sky ride, water ride carousel, etc. are an added cost at $4 to $6 per. So you can see where it can get costly.
I assume this facility is privately owned and therefore not receiving any local government subsidies therefore the higher charges to cover the overhead which must be significant.
All in all a nice visit. Recommended with the understanding that it can be costly.

This is a jewel of an attraction for the Phoenix area. A great attraction for kids and adults, and now Dillon's Restaurant on premises as a great place to end the day. Find heavily discounted coupons on egg cartons from Walgreens or WalMart. Always a place to bring winter visitors.
