We had a "girlfriends" week here in December 2011. We loved the resort--clean, well-cared-for, and overall a nice place to stay. There was a lot of parking and the pool was clean and well-maintained with attentive staff. The gym had great, new and well-maintained equipment. The main lodge, which houses registration, a bar/lounge, restaurant, and open seating areas, was also beautiful. You can find reading materials, free newspapers, and games to play in the main lodge building. Our room was a golf course view room and it was spacious with two double beds, a wet bar area and a walk-in closet! The bathroom was separated by a door, where the bath and toilet was in one room and the sink and vanity was in a separate area. The counter space in the bath was great.

What wasn't great was the lack of hot water in our room for the first 36 hours we were there. We called as soon as we discovered it and they came and said it was fixed, but that evening it was not working. Once they got it fixed, the hot water worked fine. We found the ice machines were few and far-between. They may be closer to your room, depending on where you are staying in the resort. The pillows on the beds were old and need replaced, but the beds were comfortable. We expected a microwave in our room but we didn't have one (nor a refrigerator). We asked about these items at checkout and they said all we needed to do was ask and they would have brought us a microwave (they rent refrigerators). However, no one mentioned the microwave at check-in, so how we were supposed to know this, I am not sure. When we complained at checkout about the hot water problem, they just apologized and didn't offer any break on the room rate, the resort fees, or even offer to buy us a cup of coffee!. This was bad business, in my opinion.
The location is a bit remote, but it was quiet and the scenery was pleasant--it was worth driving out of our way a bit.

Room Tip: If you choose the "golf course view" room, ask for one between #410 and #430 so you don't have a view of the clubhouse rather than the golf course like we did.

Overall, my wife and I enjoyed staying at the Wigwam. The grounds are maniqured and rooms very clean. The pool, tennis courts, golf course, bar, and restaurant are exceptional. The complimentary wifi was also nice. The only room for improvement is that the showers are outdated. Also when the shower was on at the room next to mine, then the water would run cold.

There are so many resorts in the area, there is no need to stay at a dated, needs-renovating place. Staff was pleasant enough, though they didn't go out of their way to take care of us. The pools were lovely, as were the grounds. The rooms need updating. There's also quite a bit of "stuff" around side buildings that should be removed or taken care of - makes the place look rather shabby. I'm going to check my credit card bill to search for charges we might not know about after reading others' reviews...

Found a great deal on the web, but when "additional fees" were added it wasn't such a bargain.

I'd say do a bit of searching for something newer, more up-to-date, and without hidden fees.

Room Tip: Larger rooms face the golf courses.

I reserved three rooms for myslef and my family because we were going to be in area for a holiday family party.
I paid in advance for all three rooms.
When I checked in, the clerk confirmed my rooms were paid for but asked for my credit card to cover for any "Incidentials" we might need.
We charged no incidentials and only slept in the rooms arriving back at the holel late that evening.
Check out went okay but when I checked my credit days later, I had been charged $22.41 per room.
What a rip off. We'll never stay there again.

We regret to hear that you were unhappy about your recent stay and the fee that was charged to your credit card. The amount was not for incidentals as you thought, but rather it is the resort fee. The resort fee is a per room charge that covers items and services such as internet, local and 800 calls, fitness center access, in room Starbucks coffee and overnight self parking to name just a few. We hope this clarifies any misunderstanding. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
