The Palmiet Valley Wine Estate & Boutique Hotel was an unexpected gem. We were greeted by name as we drove in and immediately asked if we would join a lawn party that was in progress with live music and wine & cheese tastings. The friendly and informed staff showed us our room and the estate facilities which were all beautiful. Meals were taken in the garden surrounded by thousands of hydrangeas in bloom. And sundowners were shared with the 'lady of the house.' Enchanting!

Room Tip: We had a roof under the thatched roof with a view over the mountains and vineyards.

The Estate is beautifull. The staff friendly and helpfull The kitchen is excellent. A place to stay and leave all your worries behinde. The rooms are spacious. The sundowner wine before dinner is a must. Eating under the oak trees between the Hortensias is a real pleasure.

Stayed for too short 2 nights and will be back. Unbelievable beautiful setting and scenery against the mountains in the vineyards. Beautiful 17th century dutch building with antique furniture in your room and great attention to every detail (watch out for the roses and the sherry:)). Very romantic breakfast and dinner settings abundantly surrounded by flowers. Eggs benedicte style are fantastic. Service is very good and at appropriate speed. We did not want to be looked after (i.e. disturbed) every 5 minutes, so this was perfect. We had a romantic getaway and felt we rediscovered beauty and time. Switch off your tablet and don't look for a TV. You're on vacation! Instead, enjoy the sun downer on the terasse facing the mountains- I won't ever forget this.

Attended as guests in a wedding, and the setting was just fantastic. A huge estate with beautiful gardens and a scenic view of the mountains. Old, colonial style rooms with modern touches, especially in the bathrooms.

Picture perfect setting for breakfast, with good selection to order. Friendly and professional staff, Jowine did a remarkable job both before and during the arrangement.

Remotely set, so transport is needed when going out in the evenings.

We were very impressed with the elegant Palmiet Valley Estate. We had a delightful room, the gardens are absolutely exquisite and we were charmed by the wildlife. Owls on the gables and squirrels entertaining us in the gardens. A real treat. We walked in amongst the vineyards and this too was most welcome after a long car trip.
The staff were helpful and the dinner we had was lovely, sitting out ion the patio under the branches of a grape vine.
We would recommend a stay here.
Kind regards,

The location and the Cape Dutch buildings are truly beautiful but it lacks in service. Upon checking in we couldn't find anyone. There is no sign to the reception and when we finally found it there was no one there. We rang the bell but no one came. We finally found a staff member in one of the buildings, she was very friendly and checked us in. When my girlfriend asked for a bottle of white wine she wasn't shown a wine-list but just given a bottle of wine. When checking out we found out that we were given the most expensive bottle on their list. Not very customer friendly! We slept in room 5 which has two big single beds that cant be made into one large bed. Most young couples prefer to sleep in one bed...

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a double bed if you prefer this. In room 5 you cant make the two singles into on...

Can't help but be impressed by this beautiful location and the guava and vine lined drive to the property. Jowine and Rhiett are splendid representatives and look after you royally from the moment you arrive. Breakfasts were always good but the limited choice for dinner made us look elsewhere in the evenings.
