My wife and I had the most delightful lunch under the spreading oak trees and amongst the vines of the Laborie estate at their restaurant "Harvest " today. It is a delightful experience, with the engaging and helpful staff adding as much to the ambiance as the glorious views over the Paarl valley to the vineyard clad slopes beyond.
The food is imaginative and well executed, with much of the menu being locally sourced and local produce being used with imagination and flair. This quality of cooking is rare, and when you combine it with a leisurely lunch in the shade of a delightful and quiet location, this restaurant is hard to beat.
We have already booked our return visit for our last night dinner in South Africa and we could not wish for a nicer place to end our six week stay in the Cape.
