Description: Welcome to Noop. We hope you feel at home here, because that is how we think of our restaurant. After all, we spend more time here than we do at our homes. Our beautiful heritage building breathes warmth and hospitality. We know many of our guests by name; some of them have become our friends. As for us, we were customers before we became owners. Noop was established in 2005, and we had an affinity for the restaurant when we took it over in 2012. It's still as popular with returning locals as it is with visiting tourists, and we've kept everything people love about it while also making it our own. There's plenty for you to choose from, and we're sure that you'll find something you like. The meals are all fresh and so is the inspiration on our specials board. If you have special requests, we'll try our best to accommodate them. Whatever you order, you can enjoy it knowing that we make the same kind of food here as we do at home. Unpretentious. Often spontaneous. Always delicicious.

“Birthday”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

Wow, well what can top that meal, it will be very hard to do that. As you walk in you are greeted with that warm, welcoming feeling and the aroma's that tantalize your taste buds.
It was my fiancé's birthday so I wanted to take here somewhere special, not the usual run of the mill places. Well all our expectations were exceeded, the friendly staff showed us the specials board & menu, well I was blown away with the awesome selection. I'm not a big fish eater but the Norwegian salmon was stunning, Liesel's lamb neck, so tender.
If you are ever in Paarl, this restaurant is a must visit.

“Delicious”

You can't go wrong here. Great atmosphere. Had delicious bacon-wrapped fillet steak. Dessert was amazing too! Prices weren't too bad either considering their placement on TripAdvisor. They are closed on Saturdays!

Great pride and love goes into every dish from starter through to dessert. We keep our produce fresh and generally source everything locally.
I am really happy that you enjoyed the A la Noop fillet so much. This is a very popular dish on our menu!
We will be closed on Saturdays for the winter months but will re-open for trade on 26th July 2014.

Please visit us again when in the area!

“Three words...”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

Frangelico Creme Catalan! If you're partial to creme brulee at all, their take on this should not be missed... But let me start at the beginning.

The first time we visited Noop, we were coming from another function in Paarl, and was in search of something sweet (read: creme brulee specifically). At around 10pm on a Saturday, this restaurant on Paarl Main Road was still packed, with a wonderful ambience spilling over into the street. We popped in and as there were no empty tables, agreed to sit in the reception area - we were after all just there for dessert and coffee. But after THAT Frangelico Creme Catalan, we vowed to return...

Which we promptly did, to celebrate an anniversary. We decided not to have a starter, as we were saving ourselves for the dessert we knew we would be having...and what a wise decision that was...

We opted for a dish from their black board - Springbok fillet served with a wine jus, exotic mushrooms and gnocchi. Hands down one of the 10 tastiest mains I've ever had. I was a bit apprehensive about ordering Springbok, as that particular meat is normally best served as biltong as it could be quite dry, but my - how very delicious. At R165 and the most expensive main on the menu, it doesn't come cheap, but well worth every cent - and they do not skimp on portion sizes either.

Of course, the evening concluded with the Frangelico Creme Catalan...

Some tips:
They do get rather busy, so book well in advance.
If you want to sit outside, or at one of the more secluded tables, be advised to ask for these well in advance.
You are welcome to take your own wine - they charge a modest corkage fee.

Dearest justdanni,
i am really happy to learn that you celebrated your anniversary at Noop - and this after just popping in for a quick dessert!!
We take great pride in what we do here at Noop and this is noticible in all of our dishes - from starter right through dessert. My chefs are all well trained and with Zian in the kitchen keeping a watchful eye I rest assured knowing that what my guests receive on their plate will be of the highest quality.
The springbok (as all venison here) comes from our family farm in Namibia and must be (besides the duck) one of the most popular dishes.
Quality and consistency is very important to us so we try to maintain this at all times.

I thank you for the kind, positive words and hope that when in the area again, you will pop in to say hi. Or even sit down for a quick Fran Creme Catalan.

Best wishes,

Mariette
