“A place to relax and make new freinds”

My brother, six year old daughter and I stayed at Thabile Lodge for two nights this January, while on a driving trip in the Oudtshoorn area.

Len's charm and skills as a host made us feel at home. He made sure my daughter was well taken care letting her watch television in the comfy den, eat in her own area when she wanted and play with the friendly dogs and cats on premises including an enormous feline named Garfield . She loved her time here and, because of that, I could enjoy the company of the other guests without worrying about her all the time - much appreciated when traveling with a kiddy . Thabile was definitely kid friendly with a pool and a herd (?) of ostriches beside the driveway to look at (Don't touch because they are gnarly animals we learned during a visit to a local ostrich farm).

The dinners at Thabile are communal and held on the balcony of the main house. While this can be a drag, if you don't like the people staying with you, we had two nights of fantastic guests - conversation skipped along with the good food and generous servings of South African wine.

Because Len had the space, he let my brother have another cottage to himself while my daughter and I stayed in our own, at no extra cost. I appreciated this, although perhaps my brother did more.

The lodge is about ten minutes drive outside Oudtshoorn. All the cottages have views of the surrounding hills. I recommend it highly.

Regards,
Mary

My wife and I recently travelled to Cape Town via the infamous Route 62. By recommendation of a friend we stayed over at Thabile Lodge...
What a beautiful place! All rooms have a wonderful view. Service was good and friendly.
Food was GREAT - thanks Hennie!! Especially dinner!
We will definitely stay there again, and as my friend, recommend it to others...
Thanks again Len (and your team)

Home in NL and snowy, but with wonderful memories to SA and a warm and cosy place called Thabile Lodge. The only place we return to each year during our trip to SA and each year we leave with a big smile. Do we need to say more....
We are world travelers and been places, but this lodge is magical by itself, the location, the pets and of course Len and his staff. A must go.
Thanks Len and till next time!

We travellend from Cape Town on our wayt to Jeffrey's Bay and stopped here for 3 nights. What a lovely place. Len and his staff were very friendly and the evenings on the veranda was a hiighlight of our trip to South Africa. The food was great and my son loved Garfield the cat and all the dogs. The little geusthouses are very comforable with beautifull views over the country side and it's an absolute pleasure jsut to sit on your own "stoep" and watch the sunset over the red mountains.

Room Tip: We stayd in Chalet nr 3 - very nice, but I am sure they are all the same.

Len and Ma were great hosts for the last night of our road trip. They couldn't be more welcoming. The property was very peaceful and the accommodations were airy, clean, spacious, and private. I loved their veranda looking out onto the yard, trees, and various birds eating from the bird feeder. Len cooked a delicious ostrich dinner and a wonderful, full breakfast. Thank you!

A big shout out to Ben, the cute Basset Hound!

We had a perfect stay at Thabile Lodge. Len, the owner, is super friendly and we enjoyed a great meal and a lot of drinks at the veranda. Wonderful place and I highly recommend it. The food was really perfect.
