Len is a most amusing and friendly guy and the verandah is a perfect setting for a sundowner and an excellent dinner. The rooms are very attractive and the bathrooms too. Fantastic shower in particular. The view over the Zwartberg Hills is outstanding. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for a get-away-from-it-all moment or a stopping off point.

Room Tip: We had 1 and 2 which were perfect and nearest the house!

Len was a fantastic host along with the many animals and entertaining like minded guests, we had a great time at Thabile Lodge. The rooms are spacious, uncluttered yet comfortable, the food is fantastic, there is no need to book a restaurant as it cannot be beaten in town. Len is very informative and has great advice for visiting the area. I would definitely not cut your stay short, you need at least 2 nights to relax and take in the Klein karoo beauty!
Highly recommend a visit!

We spent a very entertaining night at Thabile, where we were greeted by Len, who would prove to be a most encompassing and entertaining host!

The main house with the patio, bar and pool facilities is beautiful. Whether you want to chill with a drink or in the pool, the mountains provided a very grand backdrop. After we had a swim and a jacuzzi, we went to the room to shower and change for dinner.

The rooms are charming, lots of space, nice rustic design, huge bath and lots of water pressure. And, best of all, a big air conditioning unit that will keep you frosty even in the heat! There were a few ants around outside when we stayed, but you are provided with a large can of Doom which I spent a few minutes enjoying myself creating a barrier by the door to stop them roaming in.

Dinner was fantastic, being a veggie I was amply provided for, and the entire evening Len kept the good vibe and conversation among the guests going as he served us. We stayed up late star gazing and talking over drinks.

Breakfast was well laid out and we had cooked items to order. I can only recommend Thabile for a very warm and homely stay, where you're made to feel part of a family, even if only for an evening.

Oh, and you're going to love the cat!

Room Tip: Len told us he has a couple of rooms with big baths, if you fancy a soak make sure to ask for one of...

After a nasty experience with a lodge close by (ZWARTBERG VIEW run by Mr Jann Bader - PLEASE see my review of his establishment on tripadvisor) , we were forced to find alternative accommodation at short notice. Fortunately Len was able to accommodate us, and wow, what a great experience. He is the comsumate host and tended to our every need, from serving us drinks, to five star food that would not be out of place in a very upmarket restaurant. The swimming pool was sublime, and also had a small gym and jacuzzi to boot. There is also a great little bar and open air veranda where you can enjoy sundowners watching the sun set behind the beautiful mountains. Our chalets were charming, with air-conditioning (a MUST, especially in December, as Temps can approach 40 degrees! ), and a wonderful shower straight from heaven. The rates are reasonable and you get every penny's worth and then some. Thank you Len for a memorable experience - we will certainly be back....often!

Home far away from home, sitting on the porch and looking over Africa’s beautiful mountain country side, while next to us bright yellow and orange little birds were picking food under a banana tree, we were enjoying Len’s extraordinary hospitality.
He and his team are reading your thoughts of what it takes to make a perfect vacation.
Starting with the best coffee in the morning, to an excellent selected house wine for dinner…that goes with the best ostrich steak you have ever had in your life!
To soft music the dinner is served at its perfection, thanks to a pearl named Gertrud who is just a “Praktikantin” - just learning ... at least this is what she is saying … but doing everything on a highly sophisticated level. Languages toggle between English, Afrikaans and German and our host is always good for a funny and entertaining story.

The interior of the chalets is beautiful arranged, a very stylish mixture between a modern and country stile, painted in light brown, with a very spacey bedroom and a walk in power shower that fits two …

Len is a man with a big heart for his animals and his guests from all over the world.
Staying far away from home he is able to provide you a feeling of being at home.
Or even better…is it paradise in Africa …go and find out for yourself!

We thought it was!

Thank you; we really had a great time

We spent a wonderful time in Thabile Lodge. it's a lovely, peaceful place where you definitely find time to relax and enjoy wonderful natur and mountains. the owner, len, is very kind and ensures you will have a wonderful stay. In sotho "Thabile" means happy place, and that's what we've found here. The rooms are nice and comfortable, the kitchen is very good.We had nice dinners on the terrace with a wonderful view to the mountains. The owner speaks english, afrikaans, a little english, and his collegue fluently speaks german - so they ensure everybody feels at home from the moment on they arrive.

LEN met us on arrival and with his usual Gastfreundlichkeit brought drinks out to the vehicle.

It was a welcome stay in the minimalist yet very well designed chalets !

The evening meal prepared by Hennie was excellent.

I had Strauss Pâté as a starter followed by a succulent piece of ostrich fillet and vegetables.

Drinks were reasonably priced and the environment and good food were enjoyed by all.

Room Tip: The showers have an individual uniqueness in their design, coupled with free wi if this fantastic pl...
