On a quick trip across the garden route to find this place was like an oasis. So peaceful , good service and wonderful chef. I had the steak and a lovely Robertson wine. Really enjoyed our brief but pleasing stay.

Room Tip: get a view across the fields looking at the mountains , but they were all good.

We had a lovely family gathering at De Zeekoe. We loved the wonderful setting, birds and sunsets. The rooms were tastefully decorated with everthing we needed, the staff helpful and friendly and the food reasonably priced for the variety. Also good selection of SA wines.
Thank you, we will be back.

We stayed for 2 nights at De Zeekoe Guest Farm and had a fantastic time. The setting is great - on a working farm and just out of the town. Our room was lovely, being quite roomy, tastefully furnished and very clean. The room had a large bathroom and an outside shower as well as the shower inside. The gardens are lovely and it would have been lovely to sit out in them enjoying the scenery (unfortunately it was raining when we were there so sitting outside was not an option).

All of the staff were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them - they obviously wanted us to enjoy our stay (which we did).

We simply loved De Zeekoe. The rooms were plush (we were upgraded to superior), the setting magical, the staff friendly and nearby Oudtshoorn very pleasant. We want to go back to spend more chill-out time there. But the highlight is the meerkat encounter hosted by Devey Glinister, which can be booked through the hotel. Devey has spent the past few years habituating a group of meerkats to his (and guests’) presence, so that they behave normally in the presence of humans while remaining wild. He spends every evening working out which burrow the meerkats have gone to bed in, so that he can take his guests to the right one the following morning. And so you sit there and watch the meerkats wake up and go through their morning routine, while Devey talks you through the experience. Simply brilliant, unique and not to be missed.

Gorgeous, peaceful setting amongst the grasses and birds. We stayed in one of the 'superior' rooms with an indoor as well as outdoor shower, a canopied bed, and a balcony overlooking a field with beautiful birds to watch. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant while watching the sunset. The staff was excellent - friendly, professional, and helpful.last but not least, they support meerkats. We went on the tour they collaborate on with Meerkat Adventures.

We found De Zeekoe on Tripadvisor for a weekend stop-over for the family to visit Cango Caves and Oudtshoorn attractions. We were looking for a "farm" experience for the kids to run around and stretch their legs. De Zeekoe exceeded our expectations. V pleased with our choice. We were given 2 adjoining "Luxury" adjoining room which were v spacious, warm, and well appointed, replete with sherry decanter and all the lotions and potions to make the wife happy - not too far off a 5 star hotel appointment. Kids had a blast riding bikes, playing on the hay-stack, visiting the farm stock animals. The farm cat took a shine to my daughter. 3 course dinner was top rate – A glass of the "house red" was 9 year old Lourensford Pinotage. Dinner was of a similar standard – trout salad for starters, ostrich fillet - v tender in a delicious wine/balsamic reduction for main and pineapple pavlova. Service to compliment. Watched the rugby on DSTV in the main farm-stead area on DSTV in front of a v cosy fire. Similar experience to Mt Grace or Walkersons in their hey-day. V reasonably priced considering.

We were also well advised by the De Zeekoe staff on which child activities to visit, prices, closing times etc – Cango Caves tour, Ostrich farm tour, Camel rides , Go-cart rides, Ostrich rides, lunch at Surcat? Olive farm etc were all off De Zeekoe, all made for a memorable weekend.

Will return.

Room Tip: We booked the "Luxuary Rooms" adjacent to the farmstead - lot the "Cabins"

De Zeekoe is a warm and welcoming guest farm. My fiance proposed to me here and the staff made such a fantastic effort to make it a romantic and happy occasion! Thank you De Zeekoe :) It's a lovely place to stay in winter, because all the rooms are really cosy and there are pleanty of fireplaces. The restaurant food was yummy - I highly recommend the homemade chicken pie!

Room Tip: The Deluxe Room is stunning and the log cabins are so cute!
