The ranch is generaly nice - kind of a zoo with exotic animals. The place is made for the ordinary tourist and I find the price a bit too high. specialy concidering the fact that if you want to "meet" with the cheatah you have to pay an extra... however if you are visiting oudtshoorn with kids and have the time, a small visit at the end of the day can be nice and relaxing...

I am not a great fan of zoos in general. I normally leave feeling depressed at the sight of lethargic and uninterested animals. At this place one leaves feeling optimistic. The animals are in clean and interesting enclosures with minimal flies and insects around them. They look well looked after and content. The fish tank and bat enclosures were are worth spending more time in. The water in the various exhibits are clean, sometimes too clean in my humble opinion from a "natural" viewpoint, but makes for great viewing. The petting zoo can do with some more and friendlier animals though and a heads up to take suitable change to buy pellets to feed some animals at the gumball machines scattered around would be nice. our guide, Ed, was great but had to go overboard with a very tired group to inspire as we were the last tour for the day.

Cango Wildlife Ranch was amazing! My friend and I were staying at Buffelsdrift about a week and a half ago, and they took us on a tour here. Our guide Debbie (I THINK that was her name) was incredible! She was very informative! I wish we had more time to have more encounters with some of the animals, but we were only able to touch the baby Cheetahs. The volunteers were great and took lots of photos for us. The prices were also very reasonable! I would definitely be interested in adopting, if only I didn't live in Canada. Thanks guys!

The tour around was well constructed and well worth the cost. We also paid extra to have stroke and have our pictures taken with the cheetah's.

Fabulous small zoo with large proliferation especially of big cats and brilliant guides. The animals are in superb condition and the guides are expert and caring. We did the petting a full grown cheetah experience which was fabulous and the guides did their utmost to make it so. Forget the Ostrich Farm this is a must see.
