The Cango wildlife ranch is an excellent way to spend he day watching wild animals in close quarters. It is about a two hour guided walk through the ranch where the guide introduces you to each of the animal, explaining their habitat, food and other interesting trivia which is quite engaging. So one actually gets to see white tigers, leopards, caracals, lions, otters, crocodiles and many other animals. They also have a snake park. Overall it's a fun experience especially for kids and quite educational too. For an extra price you could also have an animal encounter where the ranch authorities let you into the enclosure of an animal for some time. However the best way to make this trip memorable is to adopt an animal from the ranch. Which means you could agree to pay a modest amount in a year to look after an animal of your choice and the ranch authorities keep sending you updates on the health and well being of that particular animal.

As a visitor you first go on a guided tour, which gives a lot of information. After the tour you are free to walk around on your own. They have lots of animals, not only from africa, but from all over the world.

So many animals close up! It has spoilt me for any other zoo. Nothing could compare with it. Playing with the lemurs and patting the cheetah was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. All animals looked so content and well cared for. Staff were friendly and helpful and very knowledgable. A wonderful experience overall.

Of all the sights I visited in S AFRICA, this has got to be the most educational and eye opening tour of all. The sick knowledge of species going extinct because of Man's cruelty to animals, and the attempts at mating endangered species is most awe inspiring. Definitely a must see for people visiting this part of the country!

This is really an elaborate zoo and a completely different experience to going on safari. However, both are well worth doing. There are all the different kinds of animals you would expect or want to see and the hour tour is fun and informative.

The real highlight are the animal encounters; 4 members of our party opted for the chance to have their photo taken with a fully grown Cheetah as well as stroke it. This was a real thrill and I would highly recommend this.
