This is really an elaborate zoo and a completely different experience to going on safari. However, both are well worth doing. There are all the different kinds of animals you would expect or want to see and the hour tour is fun and informative.

The real highlight are the animal encounters; 4 members of our party opted for the chance to have their photo taken with a fully grown Cheetah as well as stroke it. This was a real thrill and I would highly recommend this.

We spent a very enjoyable time at Cango and were impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Our tour of the big cats was made interesting by Ed - thanks. The lemurs stole right into my heart - such gentle lovely creatures.
I will recommend this venue to the tourists as a "must" when they go to Oudtshoorn!
We also had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant where there were interesting dishes on the menu - ostrich and crocodile tail - it is worth trying these exotic treats.

We went in the off season so it was really quiet. The park is lovely. All the animals look in good health, although the cheetahs looked a little on the porky side... It is laid out really well. The croc diving was going on, which I might have done, but it was winter. We really enjoyed our visit. We had a great lunch in the restaurant, which was very reasonably priced. On the whole a great day out.

As someone who has grown up going to natural reserves I am always wary of rehabilitation facilities but Cango is outstanding. They include an hour tour for visitors to have the opportunity to learn about the animals that they are rehabilitating and their conservation efforts. The opportunities to touch animals in order to learn about them more closely, helps to deepen your respect for them. Thank you to our guide Kevin, as well as the experience team Adi, Lumari, Safiso and Leighton. Went above and beyond to accommodate us and our needs!

This is a unique complex of probably over 400 species of animals, fishes, birds, reptiles/snakes, all in large enclosures with easy walkways linking them. In an easy 2 hrs you can walk the whole complex that includes white lions, cheetas you can touch, alligators that feed feet away from you; birds and bats to delight the wildest imagination, snakes and reptiles to engage the wildest emotions! Ideal for families with special areas where kids can play and delightful cafes/restaurants. Its just 2 kms outside Oudtshoorn which is in the centre of the Garden Route approx 500 kms from Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Its just an exceptional concept beautifully empathetic to the creatures.
