Our family of 6 stayed in the tree houses and will not forget it. For me-pure luxury, eye-candy(decor), cleanliness, plush bedding, setting, treats...For rest of family-scenery, crabbing/fishing on river, outdoor living. We are on our 4th month of a RTW trip and we all found the comfort of Home here. Thank you, Christo & Sanet for an unforgettable stay.

We booked Riverside Lodge for one night (3 Feb) during our 3 week trip in SA.. The secure car parking was very welcome for our hire car, and Chris came straight out to greet us and help us with our luggage. We were offered a choice of rooms as they had had a last minute cancellation and we were consequently upgraded. The general feel of Riverside Lodge was so welcoming that within 5 mins of being there we opted to increase to a two night stay. Chris and Sanet were great hosts, and the setting and convenience of Riverside Lodge was a wonderful discovery. The welcoming touches in the bedrooms make you feel special (I'm not going to give any surprises away), and the ambience of the internal decor and the lovely terrace instantly relax you. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished, but quite 'busy'. They are good for the start or middle of a trip, but would not be so great if you were wanting to spread yourself out and get your suitcases sorted before returning home (this is not a criticism, just hopefully a helpful comment). We dined at two out of their three restaurant suggestions and were definitely not disappointed. They had menus there to help you make your decision and telephoned ahead to make a reservation. Before leaving, Chris also phoned to make a reservation for the next night's accommodation at The Craggs and managed to negotiate a good rate for us. Nothing was too much trouble - this is more than a job to Chris and Sanet, it is a vocation. Strongly recommended.

I stayed for 2 nights at riverside lodge. First of all the 2 hosts, Chris and Sanet, are veeeery helpful and nice. For example I had to send a parcel to a guy in Namibia, I had no idea which delivery service company to choose nor how much this would cost. Chris did everything for me, checked which company could provide the service and how much it would cost. He even wrapped the goods for me. It got shipped to the address I gave him, I had nothing to do... The location itself is very nice as well, one has a beautiful view from the terrasse, the lodge is equipped with luxury traditional furniture and the room I stayed was of a high standard and very clean. Breakfast is of high quality as well. In short, I felt very comfortable there!

We booked in for one night during our driving holiday and did not really expect too much. What a surprise!! the tree house cottages were fantastic. The hosts were great being more welcoming than you can get in a lot of places. The bar is run as an honesty bar and is a trusting thing to see in this day and age. Even when we ran out of a well known brand of beer Chris shot off to get more supplies in quickly.

The tree houses are a great experience, really well equipped with all you would expect in a good motel room and then some more, like robes in the bedrooms and a decanter of sherry in the lounge.

Pity that our schedule did not allow us to stay longer. Well worth a visit!!

Room Tip: The lower mark for sleep quality cannot be blamed on the hotel. It was animals running around the t...

Very frendly people, nice ecological accomodation, relaxed admosphere. We loved to stay there and felt very much at home!
Christo and Sanet are very good hosts.
You can do your own "braai" if you like. Combination with the attractions as Magic moments and the Wild Range was absulute astonishing.

The Riverside lodge was a delight. The room was really spacious and tastefully furnished, every need being catered for. A deck with a pool overlooking a small stream made for a good setting for sundowners from the convenient honesty bar. The staff were very helpful in providing dining options, excursions info etc.

Every single experience we had of staying here, was simply the best we experienced in our road trip of the Garden Route.

Sanet, our host was simply wonderful in taking care of our every silly needs.

The rooms were not just excellent, but you will discover if you stay here so many wonderful details. Including the excellent shower, balcony and fireplace to name the most important.

Breakfast is in one word, excellent. If the weather is perfect you can sit outside and eat while the sun shines in your face.

Room Tip: We stayed at the tree house, it was brilliant.
