Zoe and Huw are delightful, very hospitable hosts who make their guests feel truly welcome. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was really tasty and well cooked, and Zoe and Huw worked hard to see all our needs were met.
There are lots of things to do in Oudtshoorn but, as we only had one night there, we chose to drive the Swartberg Pass. This is not for inexperienced drivers or the faint hearted but we were assured by Zoe and Huw it was possible in our fairly standard hire car. The drive up a single track, dirt road from the Kanga Caves towards Prince Albert is amazing with wonderful scenery. However, the road up and down the other side is steep, unmade, rocky and there are few passing places, so it must be tackled with great care. I think Zoe and Huw were relieved to see us return!
