A beautiful setting, very quiet and homely. Our host, Tharina was most efficient and helpful. Breakfasts were delightful, with freshly baked bread/vetkoek/roosterkoek to be enjoyed daily in the beautiful old homestead. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We definitely got more than we were expecting and would gladly visit again.

Room Tip: The family room is lovely and spacious and there is a play area just behind it for the children

Great service from a delightful young lady, Thurina and her mother, Annelie who run the farm style accommodation. Lovely rooms, good food and happy to prepare some special dishes for the three children. The dam and raft were a special treat for them too. Close to the Cango Caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch and Ostrich farms. The 2 night stay helped make our family reunion special!

Exceptional attention to detail was evident as soon as we arrived. Offered a drink, we asked for tea, served on the large stoep adjoining the dining room, overlooking a large garden, home to two ostriches, a peacock and a profusion of white roses. The rooms, in little garden garden cottages, are beautiful, spacious and luxuriously comfortable . Whatever you might want - and more - has been thought of: fresh flowers, good bathrooms, toiletries, kimonos; wifi, adaptors, ashtrays, comfortable seating and reasonable, in some cottages perfect privacy; a small complimentary decanter of muscatel from the neighbouring farm sent us scuttling for supplies to take home as gifts . Each room has its own patio with views of the Swartberg mountains, ideal for watching the many birds attracted by the trees and the little lake. Breakfast is excellent; dinner, optional and by prior arrangement, is good, home fare. Large pool, pleasant walks in the area - the 'biblical' garden at the village church is worth a visit. The countryside is not only beautiful, but abundant with grapes, olives, pomegranates, mielies . . . Life at its most bountiful.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lake offer the most privacy, but I've stayed in most and you can't go wrong...

Beautiful setting and accommodation very friendly service, they go out of their way to help you and make you feel comfortable. We were welcomed with a glass of muscadel from the nearby farm. I enjoyed every moment of my stay and will definitely come back. The food at the restaurant and coffee shop is delicious. The ostrich fillet is a must, also try the lemon meringue .

We received great service, a friendly warm welcome from the owners.
The rooms were very tastefully decorated, and very comfortable.
The area that this guesthouse is situated in, is truly beautiful, surrounded by mountains, great playground for kids.
We loved the beautiful scenery, and the hearty homeliness of the place. The fact that it is also a functioning farm makes it even more enjoyable.

Always love travelling to Oudtshoorn, a lovely part of the country. Totally unspoilt. Staying at De Oue Werf made our stay really enjoyable, relaxing. The hospitality, service & food was really natural and country living at it's best. While we were there for a swimming competition we had the opportunity to explore the Cango Caves and Water Fall and surrounds also. Most of all relax in between the rush.
