“very nice and budget friendly”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

Excellent location, few kilometers to cango caves and swatberg pass. good option for families with kids-as they can hang out in the open with farm animals and play area. in the night time I had some amazing time looking out at the stars-very clear night skies.
staff is very friendly and takes good care. we reached a bit late in evening, and there were no great options for eating. but overall very nice.

“Fantastic for the family”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

Although the kids are still very young 1-2 years, we had a whale of a time in the Karoo. 2km From the Cango Caves Wilgewandel is the place where you can go with your family and everyone will have something to do. The kids fed all the animals and went inside the rabbits cage and played with them. Camel Rides for old and young :-). You name it they've got it. Will definately be visiting them again soon!

“Wilgewandel - a truly amazing experience”
Reviewed October 14, 2011

My family (husband, 20 year old daughter, sister and I) just returned from a truly amazing and wonderfully relaxing 4 night stay at this paradise. The self-catering rooms are positively lovely with views from the balcony of grazing pastures and majestic mountains. Waking up to the sounds of the farm animals and, if you go in Spring like we did, you may even be lucky enough to witness new additions to the farm families every morning. Two beautiful new calves were born whilst we were on the farm and a number of little kid goats - awesome. Pienaar has to be congratulated on running this superb establishment and you just have to treat yourself to a home-cooked meal - heavenly!!! Prices are incredibly reasonable and it is just a super feel-good place for a relaxing break. We will definately be back and can recommend Wilgewandel with assurance to anyone looking for comfort, peace, quite, tranquility and a breath of fresh air. Treat yourself today....book a stay at Wilgewandel, you won't be disappointed.

“An oasis in the Karoo that offers fantastic family fun”
Reviewed October 9, 2011

Spent the 3 to 7 October in one of the 2 sleepers on the farm. Rustic accomodation with beautiful morning and evening views across the fields from the verandah. Accommodation and activities priced for the South African pocket and the owners and staff were very helpful and friendly.

A safe environment where parents can relax with a meal or refreshment while the children expend their energy feeding the farm animals or playing on the many playground activities.

The farm can be used as a base from which to visit all the tourist attractions that are located within a radius of 11 km from the farm.

I particularly loved the smell of the herbs as I drove through the hills to town or to the attractions.

Wilgewandel exceeded my expectations which was a homestay on a farm, farm animals and activities for my niece as well as a safe and friendly environment.

“Great oudoor experience for 11 year olds!”
Reviewed September 20, 2011

The Grade 5 learners (130)from Sunridge Primary , Port Elizabeth, visited the camel farm in early September. The staff were most professional and had a wonderful rappore in all their dealings with the children. They need a gold medal. The children were divided into groups. Every child had the opportunity to partake in all the activities. The supervision was excellent and the children had a very relaxing but incredibly busy day in a safe environment. Well done to Peet and his team. See u next year!
