Beautiful location with a wonderful view of the Swartkop Mountains. Enjoyed the pool and barbecue area.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February. We arrived in torrential rain (rare in this area) and were warmly greeted on arrival by Hanette with the offer of a refreshing drink. The room and bathroom were lovely - extremely spacious, very stylish, comfortable and well equipped. The grounds are delightful. Hanette is very knowledgable about the area and was able to recommend and book for us some good restaurants. We would recommend this as a place to stay for anyone visiting the area.

This lovely guest house is situated in a quiet, wide ,residential road, with secure parking. The warm ,friendly host was charming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.Rooms have their own terraced area with lovely views to the far mountains.Air conditioning seemed to struggle a little but outside temperatures were in the mid thirties. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom particularly generous. There is no evening meal but our host was able to recommend some very good local restaurants.

After many beautifull B&B's in South Africa we were already spoiled a lot....but the B&B definitely exceeded our expectations. The rooms are just lovely, really spacious with all aminities you would wish. Breakfast is great! I would really recommend this place to anybody!

We arrived in Oudtshoorn earlier than expected so went to find Aloe Manor before sightseeing for the day. We were a little surprised by the location as it is away from the main centre of town in a very residential area but we could tell from the frontage that it was at least as good as the website portrays. We weren't disappointed. Beautiful contemporary decor, beautiful garden with great patio/barbeque area by the pool with the black mountains looming on the horizon. As it was about 40c when we arrived a dip in the pool and a cold beer were the order of the day. We noted you can even use the barbeque and can order barbeque packs from the guest house.... one for next time! One of the owners is an artist and her work is dotted around the guest house. I wish I could have got the painting hanging in the dining room in my suitcase! Our room was spacious as was the bathroom (the owner explained that they could have made the rooms smaller but wanted to maintain a feeling of space). Both were spotless. Breakfast was a real treat too. We would highly recommend Aloe Manor as a base to explore the stunning surrounding area. We hope to return in the near future.

Stayed in Room #4 after having booked the economy room. Our hostess, a very warm, hospicious and energetic lady, welcomed us in and informed us that since room #4 was empty, it was available for a free upgrade to us (she let us take a look at the economy room, which was also nice but much smaller and with not as much natural light). There are excellent views towards the Black Mountains from all rooms (except the econ room) through massive windows and doors (lots of natural light!), a great patio area with loads of chairs and chaise lounges, and a covered grill area. There's a lovely pool, surrounded by a pretty garden with modern art throughout and good bird watching from your chaise. The room itself was spacious, very modernly decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. Excellent bed with sumptuous linens. Air-conditioning and an enormous bathroom. Delicious cold and cooked breakfast served by lovely ladies in the morning. A wonderful place to stay!! Don't miss it!!

We stayed in the honeymoon suite for one evening. The modern room was extremely spacious, immaculately decorated and everything we had expected from the website photos. We were delighted to find an ice cold bottle of champagne and a basket full of goodies waiting for us in our suite. The spa bath was bliss and the shower was enormous. The staff were very attentive and friendly when needed, but we were given complete privacy during our stay. We had a fabulous breakfast with wonderful vegetarian options. We would definately recommend this guesthouse for a romantic getaway.
