Worth seeking this place out, top chef doing simple things really well, with great skill and flair. Really good atmosphere, waiters all very friendly and good knowledge. Lovely evening and if there wern't so many other places to visit would have gone back again!

The third time we have visited The Foodbarn this year and we are never disappointed. This visit on a busy Sunday lunchtime but the service and food up to the normal high standard. Incredible quality and price. Pity there are not many places like this in the UK.

We have been regulars ever since the Food Barn opened - don't know how we would survive without the Deli, and sometimes, despite all the other excellent restaurants all over the Cape, don't know why we don't eat at the restaurant more often. Great food, charming setting, good service (by the sometimes slapdash standards of the South Peninsula :))

This place you need to look for to find, so get to the small parade of restaurants and shops, right off the road leading to Chapman’s Peak drive in Noordhoek and ask someone - not to be missed. They have a simple philosophy here, excellent quality, high end fresh flavor tapas. Portion sizes perfect, not too much that you cannot try others and not too small that you don’t get a real handle on what you have just eaten. You have an extensive menu to choose from and I never been disappointed to date, and I have eaten there three times in under a week. Great wines to select from - try the house red that is bottled for them-inexpensive and perfect for the food and environment. Service is with seasoned staff who are excellent and very knowledgeable. Try the chicken hearts with a reduction sauce hmmm dynamite. The deserts/puddings are great with the Meringue and ice cream being a great way to finish the meals off.

We had a late lunch her ewith friends from Europe. For lunch you can choose for a set menu of 3 courses for R225 or a la carte which would be a little bit more. All dishes were very tasty, nicely presented. Our starters where the baby squid, the steak tartare and the fish tartare where the squid stood out. It was impossible to decide on a favorite amongst the mains. I love afval and the ox tripe was superb but it is not everyones cup of tea. The veal or the beef fillet where spot on as well, it is clear whoever was cooking (we do not think Frank was there) knows how to cook this menu well.
The deserts where ok but only the passion plate stood out as really memorable.

The service was a bit poor at times, our palate cleanser came without spoons so we had to ask for some and the food was inevitably put down in front of the wrong people.

All in all an experience I am not going to drive all the way accross town for (we are spoilt in Cape Town) but when in the neighbourhood I would happily eat there again.
