At the end of our round trip through SA we stayed 3 nights in African Violet and we enjoyed it! We stayed in the loft suite that has a superb view on the bay and Noordhoek plus it surrounding mountains (views from: the nice bathroom, the living and the bedroom!) There is a nice garden with a pool and a lapa to sit in the shade / do a braai or just having a chat with the other guest or you can have your privacy sitting on your own terrace.
We 'd like to thank Jennie for her hospitality and the privacy given.
The apartments are located in a very clean an nice area that is strategic location at the cape: about half an hour from Cape Town, Cape point, Summerset-West etc. and beaches and a large shopping mall nearby (>10 min drive).

Reading the other reviews we can only join in making a compliment to the apartments and the way we were received in Noordhoek.
[The people complaining about the very steep driveway we can understand but we blamed our utterly underpowered rental car for not getting us up hill in 1st gear without messing up the clutch :-) and we also heard the dogs bark, but as mentioned this is a housing area were some people have dogs... and once in while some bark, so what]

We received a very warm welcome, Jenny and her family were very hospitable! You see that this family run this guesthouse with heart and soul. They were always happy to provide us with anything we needed. The suite we had was very cozy! It was a pity that the weither was bad, but otherwise you have a very beautifull view! The suite was very clean and we had all the equipment in the kitchen to make ourself a delicious meal. Outside on our private terrace there was also a 'braai'. Also the swimming area was very beautiful and clean. The location was also very good and quiet. We enjoyed our stay in African Violet Guest Suites and we recommend this beautifull place to all travelers!

African Violet was the perfect base for us to explore Cape Town, Cape Point and the winelands with Jenni and Rob being excellent hosts. Everything we needed had been thought of. We stayed in the Loft suite which was great for 3 of us (2 adults and 8 year old) and we made full use of the pool, deck area and the braai. We look forwards to returning very soon to this home away from home.

Highly recommend a stay at African Violet.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the African Violet. We stayed in the Courtyard Suite which was well-appointed, stylishly decorated and proved to be a splendid home away from home while in Cape Town. The property itself, the common areas and the other suites, is creatively designed and well-thought out. You have your privacy with your separate entrances, but can also mingle with others in the pool area where you can enjoy views of the beautiful beach and magnificent sunsets. One of the great joys in staying at a guesthouse is meeting the people who run it. Jenni and Rob were lovely hosts. They are warm, friendly and accommodating, the perfect twosome to make your stay all that more enjoyable. The location is wonderful, easily accessible from the airport and for those looking to have a more laid-back holiday (read: not in downtown Cape Town), there really isn’t anything better than the Noordhoek area: fine dining, the Constantia vineyards close by and the less-crowded and secluded southern beaches. We loved our stay and we will be returning back again to stay at the African Violet the next time we are in Cape Town.

Beautiful rooms. very nice garden with pool and cabana. Very well equiped self catering lodge. Jenni and Rob like to help their guests and provide them with information.
My stay was 6 days and i visited Cape town (and table mountain), Kalk Bay, Fish hoek, cape point and lots of hikes without a car. African violet's location is perfect for exploring everything between Cape Town and Cape Point.
Thanks again Jenni and Rob

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the African Violet Guesthouse in the garden suite. Very comfortable accommodation with a lovely touch for detail and all you require re self catering. Great views from the garden, with it's lovely seating area and plunge pool. Ideal place to base yourself for exploring the Peninsula, Winelands, Cape Town and surrounds. Noordhoek itself is a lovely area. Many thanks Jenni for all your warm hospitality and advice re restaurants, etc. in the area. Can't wait to come back!!
