“Marvellous!”
Reviewed February 15, 2012

Derek and Mary are such sweet hosts. Their bed-and-breakfast is tastefully decorated and located on a rise overlooking the Knysna estuary. We felt like we were on our honeymoon again. Everything about this place is just right. Truly - I can't think of anything bad to say.

Our party had the two upstairs apartments. Both were beautiful and so serene. We enjoyed the garden and chatting to our hosts. Do ask for their expert advice on the region. I would love to go back - we couldn't forget Forget-me-Not if we tried.

Room Tip: No such thing as a bad room here.

What a fabulous time we had in Knysna and especially at Forget-me-not. We could hardly drag ourselves away from the beautiful views from Forget-me-not and the warm and friendly owners Derek and Mary. We found there was so much to do in the area if you are an outdoor person. Walking with a Cheetah was one of the most spectacular events in our lives, feeding and riding elephants came a close second. All the beautiful beaches are nearly empty so no need to go early to "get your space". Mary and Derek pointed us in the right direction every day with appropriate places to visit and restaurangts to have dinner or breakfast if we wish. I highly recommend staying at forget-me-not for a relaxed, peaceful holiday with loads to keep you busy if you have the energy!! Loved it all and we will be back.

Room Tip: For family probably the CABIN.

The title says it all. What a place - I loved it and I want to go back! We stayed there in early January. We were 2 adults and 2 children. We stayed in the upstairs apartment and the view was amazing. I just wanted to sit on the deck and look at the view.
The apartment was very comfortable. A seperate room for the adults and a pull out bed for the children in the lounge - it was actually one bed with a pull out underneath it so they each had a seperate bed. They were very comfortable.
There was a fully equipped kitchen - it even had a coffee machine!
It is set in a lovely garden with a swimming pool. The deck off the room had a table and chairs so we could eat on the deck.
The bathroom was a bit old but it was fine. There was a seperate bath and shower.
It is close to everything. I will definately go back again some day.

Room Tip: I would definately choose the one at the top as the view is magnificent.

We have visited the Garden Route several times and enjoy every return visit better than the last. Forget-me-not is situated in the centre of the Garden Route, so short drives took us everywhere without wasting our days moving to other guest houses along the coast. You can also relax in their lovely garden, cool of in the swimming pool and have a braai under the stars at night. From our deck in the Nest we had fabulous views of the Knysana Lagoon, Knysna Heads and surrounding area. Mary and Derek had great suggestions on how to spend our days and where to eat at night, they are so friendly and welcoming that we are now repeating our visits as 'Family' The units are spacious, serviced every day, whish is unusual for self catering units, if you would like breakfast prepared for you and served on your own private deck that is available as well. Northing is too much trouble and we felt cared for and special. If we are able to take another holiday in the Garden Route, Forget-me-not would be our first choice for accommodation, and ease if to explore the Garden Route. You will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: First option Nest, great views, separate bedroom Second option Cabin. If you don't like to be...

We stayed with Mary and Derek in November 2011, this was our 3rd stay and would thoroughly recommend it!! They both made us very welcome and comfortable. The location is ideal, quiet and with wonderful views of the lagoon and The Heads. The breakfast is super and for self catering, "The Nest" is highly recommended. We look forward to our next visit late 2012.

Room Tip: The Nest for self catering is ideal!

We spent two wonderfull days at Knysna. If we have a chance to come back, we will for sure stay at "Forget me not": very nice hostess Mary, who helped us a lot with the places to visit, convinient location, beautifull and cosy 'Nest' appartement, from the balcony of which we watched amazing sunsets over Knysna lagoon with a glass of delicious SA wine.
The greatest impressions of the Knysna town: unbelivably beautifull views, elephant farm, handicraft market, very good restaurants.
Thanks to the warm welcome!!!

Room Tip: The "Nest"

We stayed here for two nights specifically in 'the nest' apartment. This room had a brilliant view of the knysna Lagoon and was vet spacious. It was beatiful watching the sunset. The hostess was great as well. Very helpful and thoughtful. Had a great stay. Recommended.
