Wonderful location, accommodation and hosts: hosts always helpful, and always looking to assist, words can not express how pleased we are in staying here – made us feel at home.

We stayed for just one night, but would have loved to stay longer in this charming house. From the moment we arrived, till the moment we left, we were well looked after, even to the point of having our dusty car washed without us even knowing! Sitting on the balcony in the evening, and also in the morning, gave us time to enjoy the view over the Lagoon, and also to watch the many varieties of birds in the garden. We would definitely stay there again and make the lodge a base for exploring the area. The hosts have a genuine interest in helping guests make the most of their visit. Since the rooms all face the water, we were not bothered by any noise from the nearby N2.

A friend and I stayed here in October and had a really relaxing few days. It felt very much like home away from home as we were able to relax in the lounge area in the evening. The decor is stunning in the main part of the house and the views at breakfast just gorgeous. The staff are very friendly and were helpful with tips and ideas about how to make the most of our stay. We ate at JJ's restaurant on the Waterfront and it was an amazing meal - the African dessert sampler is a must - but make sure you leave enough room. Would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone as it is an excellent base for a exploring the wider area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We stayed for three nights in November 2008 and had a great time. The room was massive, huge bath and shower and tastefully decorated. The owners were away but the two young ladies who were in charge did a very good job, making great breakfasts and booking restaurants and trips out for us. Nice swimming pool in grounds, large lounge for visitors. The only disadvantage is the proximity to the N2, which is in the process of being widened, and it is a bit far to walk to restaurants in the evening. But we can certainly recommend it.

We drove the garden route and only had tourist booklets to go on for each town, we looked at a couple of places before we chose this. The house has been beautifully done and very spacious for a B&B
What a gem, not so cheap but worth it, the place was very clean and the owners were so helpful, they advised us on places to stay etc. We did not want to go out one night and just wanted a basic meal and to just sit in our room for once of an evening they provided cutlery plates etc for us, very obliging.
Booked the treetop canopy tour for us, well worth it, and convinced us to go to Victoria falls, they got their agent to help us book something on short notice. They were nothing but hospitable and helpful.
The weather unfortunately was not the best so sitting out and appreciating the views and the lovely garden was not an option.
I would recommend it and will visit again

We found this place after searching the internet and was surprised not to find any reviews on Trip Advisor, anyway, we went ahead as it looked so nice! We were not disappointed.

Easily found just off the main N2 just a short distance outside Knysna itself. We had thought it would be walking distance to town, which it is, but along the main road rather than lagoon side path so had to use the car. At first we thoughtit was a pity however as we drove around the area and spotted other Guest Houses we'd considered, it would have been no different staying there either. Most places really need a car here either because of distance to the centre of town from places like Leisure Isle or The Heads which are the most popular areas for B&B's it seemed.

Watherfront Lodge is a beautiful house tucked away right on the edge of the lagoon. We had two lagoon facing rooms, both superb. For added luxury go for Room 1 which is huge. A kingsized bed, chairs and massive spa bath (open plan), twin wash basins plus seperate WC and sink. We also booked a standard room for our son but by standard don't think it means basic, just smaller and without spa bath!

Both our rooms were spotlessly clean and offered tea and coffee, mini bar and even candles.

Breakfasts were good, fresh fruit juice, bread, fruit and cereals etc. and cooked breakfast if wanted. Although the cooked breakfast was fairly small by comparison with other places we stayed they danger is always over eating on holiday so was really sufficient!

The house also has a nice lounge, honesty bar which was well stocked, pool area wiht superb seats and sun beds along with a sauna and spa bath in the garden. Sadly we didn't get to use the latter due to weather not being too hot.

If we were to go back to Knysna we'd certainly stay here again.
