This was our second visit to Amanzi and we were not disappointed, as the guest house and friendly staff were as good, if not better than we remembered.

From the first to last minute, everyone looked after us like we were family, with an added edge of being made to feel like really special guests.

We had the garden flat which was fantastic. Clean and bright, with its own kitchen/lounge, the flat had large patio doors which opened onto a private garden. The garden even connected to the main garden in which their was a beautiful well-sheltered pool!

Should be you want the beach and sea, it's literally across the road and taking a sundowner on the large front veranda, you can admire the beauty and idyllic nature of this special location.

Breakfasts were amazing and it was always a joy to see the spread of fresh local produce every morning; fruit, cereals, cooked breakfast, wonderful eggs and freshly baked bread.

Although Amanzi didn't cater evening meals, the staff were exceptionally helpful in booking restaurants for supper, and they made some fantastic recommendations for restaurants in and around the Knysna area.

Pannie and I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful place and would recommend Amanzi to anyone. Thank you Helen and all your lovely staff for making it a perfect part of our holiday! X

We absolutely loved having you both :) Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful and in depth review. We look forward to seeing you both again and treating you to a bit more of the old Amanzi magic - and local organic superfoods of course ;)

After reading some previous reveiws before our visit in October, we were a little apprehensive as we were staying in the ground floor room - however, from the moment we were greated by Cathy our stay was wonderful.

The room was spacious, clean and very, very comfortable with a great view toward the lagoon.

Breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. They even called the local restaurants to make reservations for dinner.

I'm sure the new/old team will keep up the good work.

Thank you! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a great stay and were well looked after by Cathy and Simon. Yep - the original team is back with a bang, and we'll be sure to keep up the high standards! Hope to see/meet you both on your next trip to Sunny SA :)

We celebrated Christmas at Amanzi with our friends and we couldn't have had it any better! The views, the service, tranquil surroundings - all added up to a perfect holiday.
Enough space for the kids to run and play, 5 minutes from Knysna centre, spacious rooms and the list goes on. Thanks to Helene and the team for an unforgettable time.

Ha ha - the swimming pool will never be the same again ;-) You certainly all seemed to be having an absolute blast!! And we're thrilled that Amanzi and the "A-team" could be a part of a summer holiday that you'll all no doubt remember for years to come.

So here we are after another wonderfully relaxing 7 nights at Amanzi; second time within a year and it shows how much we love this beautiful lodge at the shores of the Knysna lagoon. The "old" team with Helen, Sue and Margaret are back (and Mojo, of course), and it even felt better than the first time. The location is second to none (peaceful, great for swimming, walking around the isle or just watching the tide), the rooms are rather spacious and beautifully appointed, the breakfast out on the terrace is hard to beat, the pool and garden are fabulous, and the team couldn't be any more friendly.

We travelled SA extensively over the past years and stayed in many guesthouses and lodges; Amanzi is one of our favorites, and highly recommended! Book early though, the word has spread that this is a special place...

Room Tip: We love the deluxe garden room (no 6), as it is private and spacious. It doesn't have the great views over the lagoon, but a lovely balcony facing the garden and lush vegetation

What a compliment to have a review like that from seasoned travelers who've really seen it all - Thank you.

We're so happy that Amanzi has made its way into your heart (and onto your regular itinerary), because we enjoyed having you at the lodge as much as you enjoyed being here!

Mojo, in particular, eagerly awaits your speedy return and promised doggy-sitting ;-)

The Lodge is situated a few km outside of Knysna on Leisure Island, oberlooking the lagoon. The situation is exceptionally beautiful, the owners are lovely, the place is in very good shape. Breakfast on the balkony is just perfect. They even have a pool, although the sea is in front of the house

Room Tip: Sea front rooms seem to be the best value.
