“A catamaran ride across the lagoon”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

Featherbed Sea Tours [or something like that, I think] provided us with a wonderful sail from the harbour in Knysna to the lagoon entrance. The Indian Ocean was too rough to allow us to exit the lagoon, but as we got closer, the swell increased, and we were glad not to leave the safety of the lagoon. The views of the surrounding areas and hills with their fantastic houses was a real experience. The captain and crew were excellent and very knowledgeable, providing us with a commentary about what we could see. Drinks could be purchased on board.

The Knysna Lagoon is a beautiful and relaxing place. Take out some time to walk around here. The harbour compliments the overall beauty. Believe it or not, the place is very cal and surreal.

“Lovely views, beautiful scenery”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

The Knysna area is well worth a visit. The lagoon is huge, "guarded" from the Indian Ocean by the two promontories called "The Heads". There are views from all directions, and the scenery is stunning from all sides of the lagoon.

“Exquisite”

The only remaining free port of call for yachts and they come from all over the world at Christmas time, anchoring in the in bound channel and rigging lights to their masts, What a sight as they party at night.
The area offers many attractions for the aquatic minded including boat rides, hiring of crafts of varying types for family outings, hiring of house boats etc.

“Stunning estuary”

One of my favorite places on earth. Breathtakingly beautiful at high tide, low tide and anywhere in between. Decent restaurants scattered along the water's edge. Good accommodation options as well.
