“Not to be missed!”
Reviewed January 25, 2014 via mobile

Excellent combination of a return boat trip across the lagoon, a ride to the top of the headland, a walk down past caves and viewpoints, and three course lunch. Our friendly and informative guide (Gabriel) looked after us very well!

“Well worth the visit! Educational and Fun!”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

You board a boat at the wharf and disembark at Featherbed. A tractor/truck takes you to the top of the mountain. The scenery is awesome along the way. At the top, you have the option to walk down "Bushback Trail" or return via the tractor. Walk the trail - it's so beautiful to see the vistas along the way. It is well marked and each person is given a walking stick. At the bottom are the magnificent sea caves - a wonder of nature. Don't forget your camera. A great picture of you would be hiking down the mountain with your walking stick! After the hike, enjoy the well-stocked gift shop and the restaurant. It's a buffet - typical food and good. There are plenty of helpful wait staff and everyone is courteous. I would definitely recommend Featherbed!

“Featherbed Nature Reserve, Knysna”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

The Featherbed Nature Reserve cruise is a must do in Knysna. Its tour guide was knowledgeable, the views are amazing and the 2km walk offers one thee most spectacular scenery. After that a buffet lunch is served. Which bring me to a disappointing factor concerning the staff. The staff are amazingly friendly but I was disturbed to hear that left over food is thrown away instead of being given to staff. As staff if you are caught taking the left over food home, you are fired. It is appauling that in this day & age there are still employees being taken for granted. The experience was a lovely one but this has to change, you cannot be throwing away food when there are people going hungry and are from struggling backgrounds!!

Dear Vatiswa M

We truly value your comments and are pleased that you enjoyed the actual excursion.

As far as your comment regarding left over food is concerned, we wish you had come and spoken to a member of management on the day of your visit.

The staff member has unfortunately misinformed you as we donate our left over food to our preferred social responsibility partners. We most certainly do not take our employees for granted as they are the foundation of our business and we have staff that have been with us for 30 years. The Featherbed Company has a zero tolerance policy on any form of theft as I am sure you do as well in your own business or working environment.

In future please feel free to contact us directly on 044-3821693 or sales@featherbed.co.za and we will address any queries immediately.

Regards

This was a wonderful morning trip. Took a ferry in town across to the Western Head. Short ride to the top and an easy walk down. Guide was knowledgeable, buffet was delicious, views were spectacular.
