“Stunning views, standard buffet.”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

The views are really stunning, and I prefer it there, overlooking the trees/rocks/ocean from the top of the Kysna head, as well as the flat stretch on the return, with the beautiful water, compared to the view from the town/harbor area.

The ferry ride, drive up the hill, and the walk down were all beautiful and kept the experience interesting, and the guides do tell you some interesting information along the way. The walk down is not difficult, and there is an "optional" further walk down to the cave, which should be fine for most people.

The buffet was standard, and actually didn't meet my expectation in terms of food variety, but the taste was good -- drinks not included. Also, it can get pretty windy/chilly in the table area, since it's shaded.

The ferry boat ride was unique. The tractor ride up the head was original. The trail down the cliffs was exciting. The walk along the water's edge was relaxing. The restaurant was pricey, aimed at foreign tourists.

“Beautiful views, excellent guide.”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Our trip to Featherbed provided us with a really pleasant day trip. We took the boat across to featherbed where we took the tractor to the top of Knysna head. The views were great. We then took a slow walk back taking about an hour, our guide was very informative. If you feel unable to cope with the walk, as there are quite a few stairs for us oldies, you are able to come back down on the tractor. Buffet Lunch was near the jetty under some trees, there was a huge selection of hot and cold food. There was also a bar to buy drinks.

“Hike with Lunch”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

A lovely way to spend a morning, or afternoon, the hike/walk down from the top of the trail with the ocean views is splendid. The buffet lunch is in pretty surroundings and, for a buffet, the quality is very good and plentiful with a large variety. Worth the trip.
