“A GREAT PLACE TO STAY!”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

A wonderful accomodation on the Garden Route. Rensia and Peter are extremley helpful hosts. The breakfasts are to die for. If you are a fan of birds then you will see many different spieces in the beautifully landscaped garden. We recommend a visit here on your travels.

Wow! What can I say? On arrival at Pumula Lodge, we were greeted with friendliness and warmness. After checking in, we were given an information brief by Rensia on what to do and where to go in the Knysna area. The rooms are outstanding. The housekeeping is excellent and the lodge caters for everything. The lodge is situated in a quiet area of Knysna with a beautiful garden, swimming pool and lapa. The birdlife is plentifull and one can just drift in the peacefull surroundings. Piet and Rensia are excellent hosts and they went out of their way to make our stay as nice and comfortable as possible. This is definitely a place where you can overnight or enjoy a longer stay.

Pieter was very friendly at our arrival. We stayed for 1 night. We had a warm welcome and we got support regarding restaurants for dinner. What we missed was a call back regarding the restaurant suggestions. The rooms are clean but small, for one night definitely OK. Rensia was highly engaged to find furhter B&B for us to stay.

Excellent hosts, food, rooms, view, garden. Everything of the ultimate best!!! Rensia and Pieter are the most friendly, honest people I ever had the pleasure of meeting. The bird life are wonderful. The hosts are also nature lovers and that becomes clearly visible within the first few minutes of arriving. The area is safe and the vehicles are safely parked and in the shade. The staff are friendly and professional.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent with the same view more or less.

We stayed for 1 night with Rensia and Peter, and wished we could have stayed longer. After a warm welcome and being shown to our room, I sat and enjoyed a cup of tea on our baclony. It overlooked a large garden with lovely mature trees and had loads of birdlife to keep me entertained. Rensia gave us great dinner recomendations, and on our return we found our rooms had been heated and a turn down done, what a treat!
The room was so clean, had everything we needed, and the shower was great. We both enjoyed a good nights sleep, and were woken up in the morning by the call of an Oriole, a type of bird.
Breakfast upstairs was good, and we can recomend Pumula to travellers wanting to enjoy Knysna, but have a relaxing stay.

Pumula Lodge was very friendly, I was made to feel more part of the family than a guest. My stay was because of an accident and Rensia did more than she had too. Pieter was great to watch tv with when SA beat Aus. at union. You could not pick a better place to stay. Rooms are great and bed comfortable.
Thank you Rensia and Pieter.

And the service was friendly and caring, what more could one want? And it really looks like it does in the photos!
It was also great how the local birds just seem to love making the pristine garden come alive.
I would definitely recommend this one, it has all the right ingredients.
