Description: A fun, vibey tapas restaurant situated on Thesen Island at the waters edge. Live music, sushi, global tapas and friendly service. A place not to be missed...

Decent cocktails followed by some great oysters (don't that the overbaked ones with garlic sauce but the fresh oysters at 21R each). We ordered a mix of sushi & sashimi and were disappointed. The rice was overcooked and there was no wasabi applied on the sushi pieces. The crunchy rolls were very heavy and overcooked - not very tasty. Better like loud music. Rather expensive for what was served. Service was wonderful !

We came upon this place hearing the fabulous live music being played by tigger! which far outstripped the musical standard of this sort in Europe.
The atmosphere was fantastic and the restaurant basically felt cool!

However that is where it ended for us.
We ordered two Pimms to start which looked lovely but was not how you make Pimms, it tasted like there was syrup with it, no lemonade as it is meant to be made. We couldn't drink it. We even asked for a lemonade which didn't arrive until far too late.

We had to send back their house Sauvignon blanc as it was basically corked, still fizzy and obviously so looking at the spume on top of it.
We sent those back, to get an alternative Sauvignon blanc, which tasted the same but not corked and was awful, way too acidic.

Now the food, the sushi was ok actually, but the tapas was dreadful almost inedible.

The BBQ wings had never seen a BBQ or any flame cooking, poor quality just slathered in sauce.

You should only drink brands here, like coke and beers you know, anything else is a major risk.

So this is the state of things here.
The chef needs replacing really. It feels like the place needs buying by someone who cares about standards since the reviews here clearly have changed nothing which shows the owners don't care.
Our waiter wasn't even grateful for his 10% tip!

We only had two nights in Knysna and went to Tapas and Oysters as it seemed busy. The oysters were OK, but the tapas was terrible. Meat balls were burnt and covered in too much sauce, same sauce seemed to have been used with the calamari. Both dishes were terrible and we couldn't even eat them. There must be better places to eat than this.

Came here one evening as had not booked elsewhere and just wanted something quite light and tasty to eat. It was barely one third full but service was very slow, some of the waiting staff were just standing chatting although others were working. We were advised to have 5 dishes between the 2 of us, which was about right, but the choices bore little resemblance to anything we have had in Spain. When the food eventually came it was just ok, rather on the heavy side. We had to get up and find our own cutlery.
Not the restaurant's fault, but the very loud conversations from the elderly couples either side of us meant we couldn't wait to get out. We won't be going back.

I was so excited to find this restaurant and having visited Spain before I was expecting proper Spanish Tapas, even more so when I read the story on the front of their menu about where Tapas originated. This was unfortunately not the case, there was loads of Greek dishes, but not true Spanish Tapas. The sushi was good, service was averange and the food completely overpriced. Tapas? Where?
