“Peaceful”

We did the short 3km walk, which was well laid out and easy to negotiate. It would be nice if there were a few benches along the way to sit down and just reflect.

“Lovely forest walk”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

Circles in the forest - Leave Garden of Eden to the crowds and head further down past Knysna on the way to Rheenendal. Lovely short 3km walk, and longer 9km walk, with additional bike routes. This is where the Daleen Mathee memorial also is, but the walk is enough to make everyone look for elephants. 3km nice walk for kids - challenging enough to tyre them out whilst well laid out and safe. Be warned bathroom facilities a bit limited.

“A walk in the forest.”
Reviewed November 21, 2013 via mobile

We did the 9km circular hike. It starts off fairly easy with some information about the trees on route. You feel as if you are deep in the forest imagine our surprise when we discovered we were so close to a road. There are some bits were you are quite close to a steep drop so watch if you take some younger ones. The last couple of kilometres are quite steep but easily done if you have some fitness. Took us about 2hrs 25. Overall, despite the rain, a very enjoyable hike.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

Being South African this was quite a special walk, given the literary history and influence of author Dalene Matthee. It is a moderate hike in the (indigenous) forest which one has to savour as there is so much to see if you just take the time to look.
