This experience has been one of the best in my life. Plenty of times I thought I was going to die, but we were always steered to safety. This was really an amazing experience, and I would pay thousands, just so that I could do it again and again and again. I highly recommend this to, well, anyone! You are guaranteed an amazing ride!

A BIG thank you to the team of Knysna Rib Adventures for taking out the contestants of the Ultimate Braai Master Season Two, they were in-between sets and needed something fun and exciting to do...well that's what they got. A high speed adrenaline filled educational trip through the famous Knysna Heads. From the look on their faces when they came off the Rib all expectations were met.
Thanks again to Brett for his willingness and professional manner in dealing with this group last minute.
We left Thesen island and flew of down to the heads on a fabulous rib to the Knysna heads. Stopped there and the captain explained the history of the heads and the Piquita wreck. Going through the heads, what a rush great skipper!! We then headed for Buffalo Bay and saw dolphins en masse right close. Went inside these caves, so interesting. Did some wave jumping at Buffalo Bay and then back to Thesen. Such a great trip recommend it to anybody.
We had a really great experience thanks to Brett and Rob. Brett put the boat back in the water for us (it was off season and not too many visitors around) and we went around the lagoon a little but then out through the heads and up and down the coast. Brett was very flexible and we didn't decide how long a ride we wanted until we had got out through the heads - that was our call, we had plenty of opportunity to work out what we were going to get in advance but this flexibility suited us on the day. We stopped for coffee on the west side of the heads on the way back and altogether must have been out for 2-3 hours. Shorter trips are available and I guess when it gets busy in the high season the flexibility may reduce. Fantastic time and those RIBs can't half shift and turn on a sixpence. Not easy to hold a camera steady at 90kph on the water. Plenty of space to store extra coats on the boat if you, like us, take a bit too much kit along cos you think it's going to be cold. We didn't get covered in spray which I think we had expected. Had a great time.
Our trip with Knysna RIBs was one of the highlights of our SA holiday. My kids (7 and 8) loved it - although they were a bit small for the seats, this was fine on the flat water inside the lagoon (even at 50 knots!) They loved playing in the waves at the Heads (it was too rough the day we went to go through to the ocean). Brett is a great host - he took us for much longer than we paid for and really seems to enjoy the trip himself. A good mix of thrills, history and nature (we watched a seal playing with its catch) - highly recommended.
