I was lucky enough to be travelling as a group and some of us were allocated a 3 bedroom lodge - wow! Lovely log cabins with tons of room in every room. The two twin rooms downstairs were spacious, had ensuite bathrooms with corner jacuzzi bath and were well furnished. Beds were clean and very comfortable. We couldn't find the key to the 3 balconies but this was soon rectified by the maid. The middle room as a large living room/kitchen with dining bar. View out of large window was lovely. Fully furnished and equipped. Upstairs was a lovely double bedroom area. Separate shower downstairs. The only downside was we couldn't access the wifi but we didn't try very hard... Great location - a very gentle 20-30 minute walk into town alongside the water. Small swimming pool in the grounds. Breakfast was at the adjoining Lagoona Inn (not rated very well by other members of the group) and was adequate). Would definitely visit again!l

We had a garage at grond floor, living with kitchen at first, bed and bathroom at second floor. Really big wooden house. You overlook the bay of Knysna when you look outside. Everything is present in the kitchen, you only have to get some food. Jacuzzi is at second floor.

Stayed here for 3 nights in january. The lodges are excellent value for money, and provide a great base for exploring the Garden Route. We had 2 interconnecting lodges and our friends stayed in the large lodge, though i do beleive that can be split into seperately contained units.
Finding the lodges off the main road is very easy, and each lodge has a car space.
The view is amazing especially at sun set, whilst enjoying your BBQ with an ice cold Castle beer.
As other have mentioned there is no climate control, but i would not expect a/c in a place like this, we just cooled down with a cold beer and thoughts of the weather back home in Wales!!
I highly recommend staying here, and hope i find myself here again some day

We stayed for three nights, and didn't regret for a second. A family of 5, we got two adjacent rooms, with parent upstairs, and kids split downstairs between the rooms.
The rooms are both new and well maintained.
The view is stunning - makes you wake up with a smile every morning.

As a bonus, we happened to forget an important item in the room. They were very kind to arrange a shipping for us (we paid for it, of course, but they talked to the courier, charged our card, and transferred the money to the courier). This was above and beyond what you'd expect from a small lodge.

Once important notice: the lodge is about 4 minutes drive from town. If you have a car, you shouldn't hesitate a minute - there is not much to do in Knysna anyway.

We stayed 2 nights in Abalone Lodge, and our first impression was really good: very nice and cozy place, very clean, everything new in the bathroom. Everything super if it wasn't the coldest place I've ever slept in!!!!! It was deep winter, so pretty cold outside, and we had the same temeprature inside: we could barely change our clothes without teeth-chattering, and the heating had benn working the whole night! Maybe we had been especially unlucky, but our neighbours had the same problem, so I wouldn't come back there!
