We spent three nights at 9 on Heron in November 2012. Aginieszka and Margo heartily welcomed us. They gave us a lot of helpful information and support. We enjoyed very much the nice house and the spacious and cleen room. The breakfast was lovely prepared and tasted dliciously. Our host were very friendly, helpful, charming, humorous and warm-hearted. We had a lot of fun together especially with Tao, their little dog.
The value for money is excellent. We definitely recomment this beautiful place and the perfect hosts.

We (a group of 6 friends) spent a night at 9 on Heron in November, on our way to walking the Otter Trail. Despite the brief stay-over our hosts Agnieszka and Margo treated us with the warmth and kindness one would normally associate with long-lost friends: they even made a few phone calls helping out with our Otter logistics, gave us tons of advice on what to do and where to eat in Knysna, let us store trail food in their fridge and just generally made us feel completely welcome and at home.
The rooms are very tastefully decorated and were super-quiet - all the greenery in the garden made the whole experience feel like a bit of a tropical retreat. As for the room costs: in my extensive travels in SA, this was the best value-for-money B&B by a mile. Can't recommend 9 on Heron highly enough.

My boyfriend and I went for a Knysna getaway and did book fairly last minute ( well for us! we super organised!) and came across this Bed and Breakfast.
The overall accomodation was excellent!! It is a very beautiful little hideaway and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our hosts were very friendly and had excellent recommendations.
Absolute stunning little hideaway with excellent prices.

We had a perfect stay at 9 on Heron. Margo and Agnieszka are very lovely hosts. Our room was the one that looked like a log cabin inside--it was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. They have good parking spaces for cars within the compound as well. The breakfast was also very good--with lots of variety, tasty, and filling.

We definitely recommend this place to other travelers

Room Tip: The room that looks like a log cabin inside was great--at the time of our booking (Oct 2012) it stil...

My mother and I spent a night here in October 2012 and were looked after amazingly well by Margo and Agnieszka. They were full of cheer, good advice and took pleasure in catering for my vegetarian mother (the breakfasts are delicious!). I only wish we had stayed another night!
It's a short hop from the town centre so ideally you should have your own transport (a 5 min drive but not really walkable). I would not hesitate to recommend it.

From our first contact with Agnieszka and Margo to saying goodbye after our stay, they could not have done more to make our trip to Knysna more enjoyable. They answsered my many questions about our trip and were more than forthcoming with information and recommendations about our itinerary.
On arrival, they made us feel like long lost family and this continued throughout our stay. The accommodation was really cosy, the food hearty and the hospitality very warm.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great while we were there with quite thick fog. They even provided regular weather reports. Sadly our boat tour around Knysna heads was cancelled due to bad weather. Not to worry, Agnieszka and Margo provided a repertoire of alternatives to entertain us and were more than happy to make arrangements on our behalf.
They even checked a dodgy number that kept calling my mobile phone and confirmed that it was a scam.
I can’t thank Agnieszka and Margo enough for making us feel welcome and would not hesitate to recommend staying at Heron Close for a personal experience.
