“Extraordinary hospitality”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

From our first contact with Agnieszka and Margo to saying goodbye after our stay, they could not have done more to make our trip to Knysna more enjoyable. They answsered my many questions about our trip and were more than forthcoming with information and recommendations about our itinerary.
On arrival, they made us feel like long lost family and this continued throughout our stay. The accommodation was really cosy, the food hearty and the hospitality very warm.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great while we were there with quite thick fog. They even provided regular weather reports. Sadly our boat tour around Knysna heads was cancelled due to bad weather. Not to worry, Agnieszka and Margo provided a repertoire of alternatives to entertain us and were more than happy to make arrangements on our behalf.
They even checked a dodgy number that kept calling my mobile phone and confirmed that it was a scam.
I can’t thank Agnieszka and Margo enough for making us feel welcome and would not hesitate to recommend staying at Heron Close for a personal experience.

This was the best B&B we experienced. It is a safe, clean, tasteful place within beautiful nature. It is good situated in Knysna on the Gardenroute. For us it was a time of relaxing, enjoying and hiking. Margo and Agnieszka are great, made a stunning breakfast, helped us with the day planning, had really helpful hints and recommendations for dinner. The room was tasteful and equipped with everything you need...tv, kitchenette, heater, fridge. Margo and Agnieszka gave their best to make the most of our stay. We will come again. Thank you.

Hello Germany!

Thank you so much for your great review, and we would be very happy if you could visit us again! We are always happy when our guests experience the best Knysna has to offer...especially if they listen to our local tips and ideas! LOL!! Keep well and remember to tell your friends and family about what a great place South Africa is, especially the Garden Route! ;-)

All the best you both, and many more happy travels.

Fond Regards from sunny Knysna

Our second vist to 9 on Heron and it will be our preferred place to stay whenever we are in Knysna because it fits our remit perfectly. Great hosts, quite, comfy beds, brilliant shower and safe and secure - ticks in every box.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the steep drive - even my wife managed it okay!

This was a B & B, nestled within lovely homes in a residential section of Knysna. Margo and Agnieszka were warm, helpful and accomodating hostesses. They were helpful in our sorting out dinner plans. Breakfast was excellent. The room was small, but cozy. Although it got quite cold in the evening, we stayed warm and had a good nights sleep. Meeting them added to our sense of feeling welcomed by South Africans.

I had a pleasurable experience at 9 on Heron, my hosts Margo & Agnieszka were full of fun and laughter, very accommodating, helpful and together with their hospitality it created a comfortable atmosphere.
I arrived needing a place to set up, prepare before and rest after a grueling MTB Race, i received that and much more.
Agnieszka sized me up from the get go and served the perfect breakfast on both mornings i was there, while Margo floated around, entertained and poured all the coffee my body craved, whilst Tao (the Chiakanese Dog) would perform any trick possible for a Dog pellet.
Eager to please Margo would impart local knowledge and any information needed to make my stay as enjoyable as possible (even to help fix my bike), Agnieszka would then elaborate and add a few interesting facts to go with that, whilst Tao would verify this by jumping onto your lap, what a TEAM.
Will i be back ? . . . . definitely.

Room Tip: I was allocated the Green Room, double bed with shower en-suite.
